I just installed Windows 7 and my HP Photosmart C4100 series printer/copier/scanner doesn't work on the new Windows. What do I need to do to to update my photosmart.

It doesn't appear that a specific driver is available for download from HP for C4100. However, it does offer drivers for 4100 series.

Access the manufacturer's web-site: http://support.hp.com
Enter 'C4100' and do a search.
Select the Operating System (Windows 7?) used on your new computer.
Download the device-driver.
Install it.
Print a test-page.

Uninstall all those printers first. restart the computer and reinstall the drivers again.

Hi,

check you printer's properties settings
file, print, properteis or preferences

on the main/general tab
check that your set to
" printing all pages "

and not from-to ( this will only print so many )

If the printer has full functionality with C4100 series driver, then keep the current driver.

If some of the functions is not working , then download updated drivers from HP website.

Not sure what happen to this but I had the same problem. What you need to do is highlight each one except the first HP Photosmart 4100 series, and delete all the other ones.

So delete the following 6 printers.

Send to One Note 2007
Microsoft XPS Document Writer
HP Photosmart C4100 series (copy 1)
HP --------------------" ------" (copy 2)
HP....................................(copy 3) AND
HP ..................................(copy 4) which is the only one that works!!!!!

Now the one that is left should be the default. Do a test page or print something out to make sure.

install driver from here then set as default in control panel printer and faxes.your printer.
