Some units have a diode across the input leads that blow and short out if reverse polarity is applied. It's a safety device to protect the unit. If your's has one, replace it.

I hooked up the power on my corba 29 ltd by and I think I blew something inside. Is this an easy fix?

The Cobra 29, like most CB radios, contains a reverse-polarity diode whose purpose it is to protect the radio against accidental reverse-polarity hookups. Normally all you will need to do is replace the fuse, then hook the radio up correctly.

If that doesn't get you going, then possibly the polarity-protection diode is now shorted and will have to be replaced (or removed - not recommended).

Beyond that, my experience is that the next component most like to get damaged is the Audio Output circuit, either an IC or a power transistor (larger than a regular transistor). At this point you're going to have to take it to a repair shop.

Reverse polarity hook up blew fuse link. Where can i get the correct fuse link to solder into the stanley inverter pc809 800watt?

Hmmmmm, well that`s unfortunate , i can tell you that most electronic devices that connect to low voltage DC supply's are protected bye a protection diode and the fuse link you think it might be is a circuit trace internal.
an 800 watt innverter draws about 80 to 100 amp to produce the 800 watt output and you must have 2 40 amp fuses or 3 30 amp fuses customer replaceable, if you did not damage the components in your device all you kneed to do is to repair the circuit trace and replace the reverse polarity protection diode to restore normal operation

there are no fuse links internal to inverter power supply's

I have an Onan 3600 microquiet lp. I made the mistake of hooking up a jumper box to the battery with the cables crossed, now it blows the 5amp fuse that supplies power for starting. hope I didn't fry...

It certainly sounds like you have damaged the control board. If you cranked it with reverse polarity, there is a good chance that you have rotor winding damage also. If not you still may have to flash the rotor windings to ensure a correct polarized field. That involves hooking a battery for a couple of seconds to the rotor brushes (with correct polarity) with rotor brush wires disconnected. Only do this if there is no output voltage after you replace the control boards. Bad mistake :)

Have reversed polarity and is no longer open and no longer charge the battery. You can help?

Applying a power supply with reverse polarity to your Acer will have damaged the motherboard and possibly other components. This notebook is beyond repair.

Printer was accidentally plugged into a reversed polarity outlet. Will damage result??

I don't think any harm would be done because it can only be plugged in a certain way anyway, and even if you did manage to put the plug in incorrectly, it wouldn't be supplied power. I don't see it being malfunctioned by this.

Reversed polarity and now it keeps blowing fuses

For 25 cents, they could have installed a diode to prevent this problem, but now there isn't anything you can do, as the damage has been done by the reverse polarity.

Reverse polarity

this was very dangerous, and yes this could have caused all sorts of problems to any appliance that was plugged in and switched on at the time, you should report the engineer to edf and it may be possible (if you can get an electrician to confirm that the faults you've had since were cause by reverse polarity) to make a claim for compensation against edf

Tomtom go 300

Its likely to have blown IC's 24 , 25 and also sometimes possibly 26. You might also have blown the reverse polarity protection diode. Tomtoms damaged this way require a specialist repairer as the solder joint are much too small for the average electronics guy to solder. If you have no knowledge of this type of soldering or if you have not got the special soldering equipment then it will have to go to someone who has repaired these before or go back to TomTom for repair.
