You can adjust your display through 1 of two ways.
1. Somewhere on your monitor are buttons that allow you to adjust your screen position, ( left- right-up-down, widen / stretch in both direction, up & down at the same time & left & right at the same time. If you still have the manual for the monitor it will explain how to do this. Every monitor is not the same & each monitor has their own way to adjust monitor positions.

2. This might be a bit harder but all you'll need is youe mouse.
Find an emty space on your desktop, ( yeah I know it's messed up right now, did I mention this would be harder?).
I want you to right click once on your desktop & that will open a small pop-up menue. Left click once on Properties

You have just opened your display Properties. ( I need to mention just like the monitor adjustment screen is different from one to another, your video card will also be different.) My instructions should be close for you to adjust your screen.

So you have Display Properties on your screen. Click the settings tab, than click the Advanced button. Here click the Adapter tab. Look down & you'll see a button ( List All Modes).
Click it. The mode screen will open. There is a scroll bar on the right. Slide the scroll bar down & pick out the setting you want.
Most people use setting - 1024 by 768, True Color (32bit), 60 Hertz
Click Ok & than Apply. Your screen should adjust it's self.
If it does not, than someone messed with the monitor adjustments & you'll have to re-adjust from the monitor.

Good luck!

Why do my icons don't appear in the lower right, I would like to reinstall day date calander and time

It is not very obvious. The bar at the bottom of screen is your 'Task Bar'
1. Find an empty part of your Task Bar and Right Click on it
2. Select Properties
3. Near the bottom of the menu in 'Notification Area' tick Box 'Show clock'
While you are there, it shows all icons that are on your Task Bar. If empty find the 'Hide Tasks' box and untick
4. Tick Apply and OK

I can't download anything.

Are you using Internet Explorer? Just go to the top of the screen with your mouse and RIGHT click on the very top part of the screen. It should bring up a small menu, look for Menu Bar, and LEFT click beside it (it will put a small check mark beside it to show that the option is enabled). You can show or hide many of the info bars along the top with this method. If you pick one that you dont want anymore, just open the menu again and click on the check mark to unselect it. Did this help?

3 BLACK LINES THROUGH SCREEN. One 1 in from top, one through middle of screen and one 1 inch from bottom of screen.

The LCD panel is dying. It may only have a line or two of dead pixels but it may also get worse over time. Often caused by poor connections indide the monitor from the LCD panel to the flexible PCB. Basically the PCB ribbon is pressed against the LCD and as the padding gooifies it looses contact. This has been an issue since the first LCD screens on calculators etc.

IBM Flat Panel Monitor problem - light colored shifting lines (like Bar Codes)

It sounds like it's a problem with the video card, as opposed to a problem with the monitor. If you have another machine, or a laptop, or a friend with a laptop you can find out - just plug it into the other machine, and if the problem goes away, it's the video card. If not, it's the monitor.

While the card may be bad (if it has a dead fan, and has overheated) you will probably need to replace it. But if may just be loose, assuming it is a and on video card and not an onboard one. If it is an onboard video, you can usually disable it and put in an add on video card, which would resolve the issue as well.
