Try to go to Safe Mode by reseting the computer then tapping F8. If your able to acces safe mode follow these instructions:
1. Go to start then click on RUN 2. Type msconfig 3. go to services tab, click hide microsoft services then click disable all 4. reboot the computer and see it it will go to normal mode. It you will be able to boot to normal mode it only means that one of the isntalled software is preventing windows to load 5. if still cant boot you neet to reformat the system
Sounds like you may have a corrupt driver or incompatible software trying to launch at boot. Or, at worst, malware thats totally screwing it up. If you have access to another PC, download Service Pack 2 for Vista. Boot your PC into safe mode, and try to install SP2 from safe mode.
See if you can go into safe mode by hitting the F8 key right after the dell splash screen and right before the XP splash screen comes up. If you can get into safe mode try to uninstall the rangeplus adapter and try reinstalling again after rebooting the system normally.
Hi, without these boot cd´s it is not easy to recover from this state. These are necessary. If you need to access your disk badly, you can use a linux live cd, boot it up store on a usb key. Sorry to disapoint, but the recovery cd is necessary ( or a windows installation cd ).
safe mode is appear on the screen before the normal windows system. all you have to do is press F8 or Function 8 before the normal system comes up. This procedure is only for technical assistance, whatever any changes on safe mode is your decision. Good Luck!
Power off your computer, then power on hitting F12, del or whichever key it states to go into setup. From the setup menu, select change boot order or boot menu. Set the CD ROM to the first boot device. Save changes. Restart. Your computer should boot to cd starting the installation.
FIrst thing to do. Reboot the computer and tap f8 to enter safe mode. If you can enter there. Go to start-run -type on msconfig. Then turn off all startup items and apply then close and reboot the computer. If allows you in then something in startup is the problem. A hung program is the possible cause.
