The link you have suggested does not seem to work. A message comes up (in Japanese) saying the page cannot be found. Could you please suggest a working link in english?

    thanks,

    Andrew

Could you please explain this in a way that I can understand how to make the repair? I am not a technician. Is the fault you are describing fixable at home or would I need to take the machine to an authorised repairer (which probably wouldn't be worthwhile - more cost effective to buy a new printer)

    Thanks,

    Andrew

Hi have a nice day!
I think you must try uninstall and reinstall it using the proper driver according your operating system.

E021 relates to the shift base(unit with the devs on). It is most likely to be the mylar on the tension arm on the shift base drive unit(lives under the shift base) the mylar gets worn & causes the arm to stick (its the one with the big tension spring attached) hope that helps

I consider that every common user can not carry out with success a repairment at which besides experience, also special tools are needed.

I would suggest to try to reset your printer. As you probably have not a service manual just do the following procedure and see if error message stops:

    Select [Canon LASER SHOT LBP-2410];

then, select [Properties] if for Windows 98/Me or [Print Setup] if for Windows 2000/XP.
    2) From [Page Setup], select [Display Printer Status Window].
    3) From the keyboard of the PC, press the following keys in sequence: *, 2, 8, and *.
    4) From [Options], select [Service Mode].
    5) Select the appropriate menu from among the various menus.

When the machine has started service mode, you must turn off the printer to end it. To return to normal mode, you will have to turn it off and then on.

    Service Call

When a problem has occurred and the printer does not work properly, the Alarm

lamp (red) goes on and the service error shown in the figure appears.

If the error has appeared, cycle the power of the printer using the following

procedure. The service error message may disappear.

    1
Turn OFF the printer, wait for 3 seconds or longer, then turn

    ON the printer again.

If the service error message does not appear, the printer works properly.

If the service error message still appears, proceed to the next steps.

    2
Note down the four-digit alphanumeric displayed in the Printer

    Status Window.

    3
Turn the printer OFF, then unplug the power plug from the AC

    outlet.

    4
    Contact your Canon dealer.

When contacting your Canon dealer, please report the problems and the

    four-digit alphanumeric.

Our Canon Selphy DS810 is not printing any color on the photo paper. I cleaned it several weeks ago, we have a new ink cartridge in and nothing. It was printing a light yellow color several weeks ago...

There are all kinds of printers and printing problems. It’s important to note at the outset that for safety reasons you should unplug your printer if you plan on working inside the device for any reason. In addition to the electrical hazard, printers (especially laser printers) can also be very hot on the inside, so use caution.

There are a few general troubleshooting steps you should take first, regardless of your printing problem. These will help solve most everyday printing issues.

Reboot. You’ll be amazed at how many printing problems simply disappear after you restart your computer. Also, reboot your printer. Sometimes, for no good reason, a printer will become wedged (it just stops communicating with the computer). Turning your printer off for a few seconds, and then back on, will usually get you going again.

Read the printer’s lights. Doing this can provide you with very useful clues. Is the power light on? Is the paper feed light blinking? Don’t be afraid to press buttons on the printer: Turn it off and on, reset the paper feed, and take the printer offline and bring it online again.

Check your physical connections. Is the power cord loose? Does the cable from the printer to the PC have a secure connection at both ends? Look at the connector pins on your cable. Are they bent? Try another cable if you have one. Check the print cartridges and printing mechanism. Is anything blocking the printer? Are the cartridges firmly in place?

Print a Windows test page. Access your printer’s Properties dialog box (follow the directions given above). Select the General tab and click the Print Test Page button. If nothing else, you can find out a good deal about your printer’s problem. If the test page prints, you have a problem with your application, not with Windows. Answer the questions as prompted and work through Windows’ Print Troubleshooter as needed.

Drivers. Verify drivers on the Details tab in the Printer Properties dialog box. Make sure the installed driver corresponds with your actual printer. Check the manufacturer’s Web site for updated drivers and browse the support pages on the site while you’re there.
