Question about Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Casio Exlim parts

My girlfriends son has a Casio Exlim. He sat on the lens while it was extended. I have checked and he broke a number of teeth on one of the little plastic cogs that drive the lens. Do you have any idea where I can get a replacement?

Cheers,

Richard

You would need to send it in. They won't send you parts like that. Call 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2 and they will tell you where to send it.

My casio exlim exz80 has len error message and lens does not retract

The lens is driven by a minute gear mechanism. When the lens opens, but is jammed, something has to give, and usually it's a tooth on a gear. Sometimes it's just dirt or sand, impeding the movement, and you can try to blow it out with compressed air, but if that doesn't work, I would consider buying a new one, they're very inexpensive these days, compared to the price of a repair shop!

Casio exlim EX- Z29 lens error upon power on

If you've recently dropped the camera you may have damaged the lens tube (housing) or jarred the zoom mechanism off of its track -- either of these problems will require professional repair. If the camera has not been dropped, your problem may be due to weak/worn out batteries or corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, your batteries may be too weak/worn to properly power the camera, or the camera may require professional repair.

My casio exlim camera lens dropped and now my camera won't turn on nor take pictures

you've got a problem with your camera power management system. if you can open it try to follow where cables nor conductors from battery are going and check them physically.

Casio Exilim 5.0 mega pixels EX-Z57. My 2 yr old grandson got the camera this am and brought it to me. He apparently turned it on and tried to close the lens that opened. The 2nd lense from the from is...

Hi - sorry but this is a very old camera - nice in its day (I had one) but now so out of date.
Any camera which extends the lens is prone to disaster if the lens is knocked when extended - you don't need a grandson to do that either. Any slight fall will knock the lens out of alignment - each sections runs in a very fine twisting in/out circular track as they move - a knock will move all or part out of its track. Sometime you can be lucky and press (straighten) the lens so that its back in alignment - mostly not tho.
Given its age, and the vastly improved cameras out there now at far cheaper prices that we paid 12-15 years ago, suggest you remove the memory card and battery, and give him the camera to play with!. Go get yourself a replacement - if you want a camera which does not extend the lens, that will sit flat in your pocket/purse, even when on, consider the likes (or similar) of the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX55. - great camera - (more like a powder compact as the lens does not extend.)
I have one can so can recommend. Other brands have similar 'flat' cameras also. Save more dollars - find a nice secondhand one on ebay or similar. To use, all you do is sllde the front plate down and you are off.
Cheers - have fun taking pics of that g/son.

Lens error

This is the lens focus gears. They are either knocked out of alignment, or debris has jammed them. The good news is it can be fixed....Casio most likely won't help. Hint...google my user name.

more than likely you will have to send it in. I don't think there is anything that you can do to fix that at home. If the pics still come out ok you can live with it. If pics get blurry then you will have to send it in.
