A vertical yellow line has just appeared on my LG flat screen monitor. What causes this and is it fixable?

Please review/check the operations/product manual of your LG monitor, as it set-up settings is modified, OR possibly, there might be an internal electronic part/s that are loose/cold soldered in the monitor which I suggest to bring it to an Authorized LG Service Center that will fix the unit. best regards

Had this same issue on right side of 52" about 1 inch from side but had 3 vertical lines that disappeared after 40 minutes. Have Samsung LNT5265FX/XXA and about 16 months old. LCD Panel itself had to be replaced to fix it, fortunately had extended service plan

Yellow vertical line

most of lines vertical or horizontal are defects in the screen that can't be repair unless you change the lcd screen, which is very expensive, in my experience this lines wont disaperar by any mean that I know, this monitors (all lcd) have a very delicated circuitry that can fail in a joint between the lcd panel and the circuit board (solid board conected by a flexible circuit ribbon to the lcd) unless you have warranty, I think you will got to live with this defect, or change that monitor. hope it help.
note: some hot air in the joints will help but if you dont got experience on this tool could be worst (not recomended).

Thin yellow line on the right of the LCD Screen

all those sounding intelligent and saying that replacing lcd hardware will fix the problem probably didnt have the problem themseleves . i had exactly same problem with samsung syncmaster 2043swx monitor . i just restarted and booted into safe mode ( by pressing F8 key at startup ) tried changing reolution in display settings . rebooted in normal mode and asll lines are gone and never appear again . i am uisng windows Vista . so i think it is probably a driver glitch something .

Yellow vertical line

Lightly press on the line at the top and bottom of the screen. If the line goes away while presses then its the TCP connector problem. You will have to open the monitor and use a piece of soft rubber to keep the tcp pressed.

Word of caution: TCP is extremely fragile, so be very careful.

Hope this helps

On screen thin yellow and blue vertical lines.

Unfortunately the LCD is going faulty.. one or more of the "Driver" transistors that operates the LCD elements RGB, have faulted ON.. perhaps this link may help fix it. Otherwise :( http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Stuck-Pixel-on-an-LCD-Monitor
