I think you are out of luck with this. You can try upgrading the RAM, but I believe you will still be disappointed. Vista requires a huge amount of hardware resources and many drivers are not available yet.

Install Windows XP or try one of the Linux distributions. I prefer Fedora Core myself, but for many, Ubuntu is an excellent choice.

Acer aspire one slow running on skype video

That system is upgradeable to 2 GB DDR2 RAM (one stick) which would probably help, but if not there's really nothing else upgradeable in that system. Going with the current costs of RAM (when shopping online, like at newegg or zipzoomfly) it would be worth it to upgrade it just to give it a try and see if that does help.

Aspire laptop has become very slow to power up

It is cause by a very serious virus called "Conflicker"
Try to Do a upgrade of 7 (Free upgrade from Microsoft).
The upgrade does not delete your files, it should detect and erase viruses and the startup is quicker. (22 secs on my Dell Inspiron 2200 with 512MB RAM!!!)
Currently, the only other solution is to do a complete re-install.

Acer Aspire 3050 Laptop running slow Changed Hard drive, Memory, and the motherboard It still run's slow, vista basic 2 X 512 pc2 533 could it be the power board? any one had this before? Thanks..

1st go through your 'programs and features' in your control panel and delete anything over around 100Mb unless it is necessary, a lot of ram is taken up by these programs even when they are not being run.

Slow boot up and slow performance

you have 512mb of ram, firstly i recommend upgrading to atleast 1GB of ram especially if using Vista.

You may have a virus, assuming you have got an antivirus programme, run it, if not click the link below for AVG 8 Free

Also clean your system of old temp and registry files using Ccleaner, again free, click link below

Acer Aspire 5315

I have a friend who has an Acer Aspire 5315 running Vista and it was pretty slow right out of the box with 1gb of ram. I upgraded his Ram to 2gb and it ran moderatly faster and smoother. Vista is a demanding OS because it's so graphical in nature. Windows Vista requires more ram then XP plus a better CPU to run smoothly. His had a 1.6ghz Celeron which is not that great of a CPU to begin with but uping your ram will usually up your performance a few degrees. Be careful with cheap ram it can run hot and unstable. Make sure go with a name brand PNY, Corsair, Kingston, etc. Don't just buy House ram (generic) because it's cheap. It's not worth wasting your money on junk ram.

Hope this helps. M~

Acer aspire 5100 + AMD TURION 64 + DDR2 1GB + WINDOWS VISTA - IS VERY SLOW, AND HANGS

hmmmm...now..that's weird..did you do any disk maintenance? shut down all applications, all of em, and run disk cleanup and defrag..usually good for about 25% improvement in speed, at least..

got backup for that acer?
