It's probably the motor. Most times, the motor has separate windings for slow and fast speed. Before spending $120. 00 on a motor, I'd get a $5.00 voltmeter to confirm this. You can use the tech sheet to find which terminals on the motor are the fast speed windings, and check the resistance. Be sure to unplug the motor plug first. It should read about 8 to 14 ohms.

If the motor is good, the timer is the next likely candidate. Withoput knowing which machine you have, this is the best I can do.

You have a problem with the contacts in the timer and it will need to be replaced. Here is the part to order. To replace the timer remove the cover on the back of the console.

The part comes with a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy.

Delicate cycle fills with water but will not agitate

Timer needs cleaning on the delicate relays (points) in the delicate position. Maybe timer failure. Transmission stuck, jammed or failing in that wash mode

During normal cycle agitation is a constant stop/start

Yes, the timer mechanism should be replaced asap. the timer has a motor that is responsible for the rotation of the device. This motor is damaged, in return, not allowing the normal cycle to initiate and transfer sequential information to the motor properly.

Replacing the timer will correct this issue.

can you get it to start by moving the timer one more click past the beginning of the cycle? Sometimes that is all that is wrong. Other than that, it's more than likely the timer has fused some of the points together and you will need a new timer in that case

Open the control panel. Unplug the timer and then plug it back in good and firm.
