Hi, I am new to the world of a.v. and would like to know which connections are best, as there seem to be numerous alternatives - component, digital, optical and s-video. Any help most appreciated, thanks Garry.

Hello...for best sound quality you should use optical or digital i.e sp dif depending what outputs you have on your cd/dvd..the easiest way is the sp dif because you can use ordinary rca cables....then for video you can use s-video or feed video signal direct to your tv via scart or rca input i.e video in but if you have hdmi from your dvd to tv you should us that for video, and i wish you good luck...Ron

How do i repair the cd player on my bose awrc1g radio cd player

Hi Susan

As there are no user serviceable parts inside your unit, your best bet would be to contact Bose directly. This is likely best left to the pros, especially if the unit is still under warranty.
Here's the link to your owners manual, service centres are on page 29.

Good luck!
-Steve

Left, left surr and center no out put

Is this during the auto MACC phase or all the time?

If all the time then check connections and wires, make sure you do not short both speaker wires together if connected to amp as this may blow it especially if it is on.

Best thing to do is removed wires from amp and using a battery place the wires on + and - and see if speajker makes a noise, if not try a pair of cables you know work and see if it is speaker or cables.

If they are all OK, then it must be amp, try swapping out with speaker you know work and see what you get.

Just a case of fault finding.

Where do I plug rca cables from the cable box into an RX-V2500 Yamaha receiver?

Depending on what type of connections your cable box has available you can do the following:

1) If yo only have the standard VIDEO & L R AUDIO connections you can use the DTV connection on the back of the V2500. If your cable box also has an S-VHS connection this would be the same connection to use.

2) If you have COMPONENT VIDEO connections on your cable box then you would still use the DTV connection. Looking at the back of your V2500 the regular DTV RCA connections are just to the left of center. Farther over to the left are the COMPONENT VIDEO connections. They are labeled Y, Pb, and Pr. These allow for the higher needs of HD TV transmissions. If your cable box has these connections then making use of them would allow for the best quality for your picture.

The following website has your manual available for download in case you need it:

What is the best way to attach a Sony SCD CE595 CD player SACD to a Denon AVR 2105 Receiver. I thought the optical input would be best but according to a web posting, toslink does not support SACD

That is correct. Digital connections through some models of SACD players are via "firewire", otherwise it is analog output. There are no optical connections.

The shortest pair of RCA cables, or even component video cable as an alternative will work.

Technical Problem on my Denon AVR 2802

How good are you with electronic repairs...? Do it if only you are confident...

The way you describe you problem it seems more like poor solder connections somewhere on the board. Usually these are at the voltage regulators where there can be some heat. Also, look for any connections that appear to be grasiny or have rings and resolder them too.

Alternatively, suggest that you take it to the Denon service center closest to you.

Best of Luck..

How do i connect my denon RC7000CI to denon amp. 2801

I cannot access the setup menu on the unit display or via the s-video monitor out -- everything was working fine a few days ago. I have reset micro, unplugged all night, reset again, and still cannot get to the menu in order to correct connections, esp for digital. My problem is on the avr5600 but seems like this happens on many of the denon units

If you have HDMI on your TV use the component video / digital optical from DVD changer to the receiver. Your receiver will upconvert the picture. The sound will also be sent via the HDMI. If you don't have HDMI still use the digital optical or the digital coax connections. The next best thing to HDMI would be using the component connections (RED, GREEN, BLUE) Good Luck

Hi Garry

It's not an innappropriate question at all.

Take a look at the review >HERE<

The author Richard Elen has given some interesting information regarding the pros and cons of the different inputs and his recomendations of how to connect and set up, which should give you a few ideas.

Hope this helps
