Insignia tv. After 10-15 minutes sound becomes distorted and volume goes to almost a whisper.

Check the speaker/s first. If found OK; check and replace the damaged component/s at its audio output section circuit board. If needy, replace this board as card basis. Next crttv TDA9370ps/n3/3/0960 Standby mode I replace Eprom ic

Try by replacing its main system memory IC. It is a very small IC, have 8 solder terminals, and can be located very near to TDA9370. Be sure to replace it with the same number printed on it, otherwise wont go. It is a very cheap one to buy. If it do not help you, replace the TDA9370. Failure rate to this jungle IC is rare. Check all the related components, and make sure that all of it are OK, beofre replacing TDA9370. To get more details, http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

No Sound on AM or SW

Hello
If the set receives FM signals without any problem, and only fails to receive AM signals, the IC [integrated circuit] used in it is faulty. The number of the IC used with your radio is CXA 1376AS. It is a replacable type IC, and can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town. If you want further details about its service manual, get me by Fixya. OK.

Toshiba, 36A50 picture is a thin white line. Can this be repaired?

Yes...this TV may be repaired. The line you describe is in the center and is horizontal across the TV. You will need to resolder the vertical IC pins. This vertical IC is mounted on a large heatsink. Under the board you will see there are 5 or 7 pins that will have rings around them. Resolder these. And you should replace two or three capacitors that are next to this IC. A bad cap will overheat an IC and separate the solder grounds. If you can find my expertise page on this website, you will see the repair in more detail. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support.

I have a mitsubishi vs-4541/4542 tv with sound and no picture. What are my options?

I have not repaired this particular model. If this TV is a projection set,you have one of two possible problems. First....You may have convergence IC that has lost a ground contact to the signal board. We are discussing the board that has all your RCA connections and RF connectors. You may have to replace, possibly a STK-XXX series convergence IC. One or two capacitors near this IC, usually a bad cap will end the life of an IC and resistors. And replace a couple of resistors, these are standing tall next to the convergence IC. The next problem could be on the power supply. The power supply will almost always have the flyback transformer on it. If you can locate the vertical IC..This IC may need resoldering. You will see rings around the pins of the vertical IC. Replace the three or four capacitors next to the IC. A bad capacitor will overheat an IC and cause solder grounds to separate. Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

Same Problem! Sony Z1 turns off and back on as it wishes and it is not recognized by my comp. I've tried other computers, cables, everything but no luck! Is there any think I should try before heading to...

Hello, I'm afraid your iLink IC is the problem. Unfortunately it is a BGA device and resides on the very expensive VC367 board. Sometimes the IC can be replaced albeit with very specialised IC removal equipment or the board needs replacing. This is also specialised in that all the Z1 data is stored on this board requiring the data to be, first, downloaded to a PC and then uploaded once the new board is fitted. The camera then needs aligning.
