I have a Samsung SyncMaster 225MW Monitor connected to an HP Slimline Desktop PC running Windows Vista Home Edition. The recommended max resolution for this monitor is 1680x1050. After each re-start or user account change, the resolution is reset to either 800x600 or something in between that and the max. resolution. Randomly and after quite a bit of monitor flickering. System tells me I am using an ATI Radeon HD2400 graphics card and I am using ATI Catalyst Control Center SW for the settings. Any idea how to fix this annoying reset of the monitor resolution?
Thanks for your support :-)
I think you have problem with your graphics card. restart your computer and then before starting to windows press F8 to set your settings to safe mood, after booting up to windows restart the system again.if the problem persist reinstall the software drive of your graphics card if you have it.

Hi. If the display goes out after displaying the Power On Self-Test (POS) and the power indicator turns amber, it means that the display resolution of your computer is higher than what SyncMaster 192S can handle.
If you still have the monitor that you were using before, connect that one and change screen resolution to 800x600 and 60 Hertz. Turn off your computer then change monitor/LCD and turn on your computer. You may change screen resolution to optimize display on your SyncMaster 193S.
Let me know if you need help changing screen resolution or if you don't have the original monitor that you were using on your HP.
Yes you can, if you has PC desktop, plug your lcd to it. change LCD resolution from your PC. -- Right Click on desktop -- Click properties >> click settings tab -- You will see Screen Resolution, change to the lowest (800x600) -- Nnplug VGA cable from PC -- Now plug the cable tou your TV Tuner.
you cannot set the resolution to 1024x768 but instead try 1280x720 or if you have graphics card try to set the resolution using its custom resolution by setting 1280x768.
It will surely solve your problem.
ur setting may be set to low resolution...
try doing this
go to Desktop/right click/properties/Settings/Screen Resolution/
What do u c...what's the resolution there...800x600...
if the slider(pointer) is active use it to increase it to say 1024x768, 1152x864, 1280x1024 etc.
use the correct resolution....as too much of resolution will make ur monitor un-viewable...
also try if ur monitor has some press button on them to make changes to the correct setting/zooming of the screen image...
I tried the following options and neither worked. 1) Hitting the monitor buttons as stated only got me a "digital" message and then the monitor went black as usual. Never got to any menu options. 2) Going into Safe Mode and changing the monitor settings or downloading/installing the correct driver didn't stick once you went back to the normal startup.
I didn't have another monitor handy to swap out so I had to be a little more creative. The only solution that worked for me is re-booting (F8 during startup) into the mode "Enable VGA Mode". This allowed me to go into the normal desktop with a screen resolution of 800x600. I went online, found the driver, downloaded it to the desktop. Deleted the video driver (Device Manager), installed the downloaded version, rebooted and....no problems.
