That's the nature of a glass cooktop stove. You may be cleaning less often if you use pans with absolutely no grease on the bottom. By the way, aluminum - bottomed pans will sometimes rub off onto the cooktop.
Sorry, there is no better solution to this one.

My Bar B Chef grill grates are totally rusted. Are stainless steel grates better or should I stick with cast iron?

I prefer cast iron. Cast iron heats more evenly and retains temperature better. If they are falling apart from rust, junk them. If they just have surface rust and no holes, all you have to do is brush them with a steel brush at high heat. Wipe them off with a wet rag and then rub it with an onion to provide a teflon layer. if it is really heavy rust, spray oven cleaner on them and hose off. After use or for storage, clean them and then wipe them down with a cooking oil soaked rag. The oil will reduce rust build up.

How do I clean the stainless steel interior of my electrolux icon microwave

Hello - Interior cleaning after convection, mix or broil cooking:

Spatters may occur because of moisture and grease. Wash immediately after use with hot, soapy water. Rinse and polish dry. Harder to remove spatters may occur if oven is not thoroughly cleaned or if there is long time/high temperature cooking. If so, you may wish to purchase an oven cleaner pad with liquid cleaner within it-not a soap filled steel pad-for use on stainlessor porcelain surfaces. Follow manufacturer's directions carefully and be especially cautious not to get any of the liquid cleaner in the perforations on the wall or ceiling or any door surfaces. Rinse thoroughly and polish dry. After cleaning the interior thoroughly, residual grease may be removed from the interior ducts and heater by simply operating the oven on 450 F for 20 minutes without food. Ventilate the room if necessary.

Interior cleaning after microwave cooking:

Cleaning is easy because no heat is generated to the interior surfaces; therefore, there is no baking and setting of spills or spattering. To clean the interior surfaces, wipe with a soft cloth and warm water. DO NOT USE ABRASIVE OR HARSH CLEANERS OR SCOURING PADS. For heavier soil, use baking soda or a mild soap; rinse thoroughly with hot water. NEVER SPRAY OVEN CLEANERS DIRECTLY ONTO ANY PART OF THE CONVECTION MICROWAVE OVEN.

How/what can be used to clean range ''glass top'' can those green spunges be used/

Oven cleaner, use EASY-OFF Fume Free Oven Cleaner, it is the best
for cooked stains.

You should not use anything but a soft cloth, and if you use the cleaner
you won't need something abrasive.

Once you put tiny scratches into the glass, it will be more difficult to clean.

After you clean it with oven cleaner, rinse it with a warm wash cloth a few times, to make sure no cleaner is left behind, and read the directions.

My cooktop has only been used since the 21 of Dec 2009 and already is ugly Whats up whirlpool black top

Hello! Cook tops need a special cleaner that has a mild abrasive. A special sponge used with the cleaner does an excellent of both cleaning and polishing.

Although there are several brands, the one that works best is called, don't be surprised by its name, Cook Top Cleaner. They make a kit, which has sponges impregnated with cleaner. You can buy sponges and a bottle of cleaner as well.

Follow directions but be advised the product contains an abrasive and is for the cook top only; It will ruin a high luster finish.

Burnt on spots can be removed with a razor blade.

Can't get the top clean and it always looks dirty

you can purchase the ceramiic cook top cleaner from the supermarket, apply as you would wax a car, in small circular motions until it dries to a haze then in similiar fashion, wipe off. As far as the stubborn spots that remain, reapply the creme and scrape off with anew clean razor blade, held flat to the cooktop ( not using the corners) will get just about any stain form hte unit. Manufacture usedto supply such razor blade scrapers, but for liabiltiy reasons no longer can package in. use a terrycloth towell as well, paper towell are filled with lint and can actually scratch

Maytag gemini schott ceran stove top

Sugar spills on a hot surface will 'pit' the glass surface. There is no way to repair. The damage caused to the surface is only cosmetic and will not affect the performance or operation.

Setting time

Sounds like a keypad problem. A bad keypad may be worn out due to age, damaged, or it may have gotten wet or otherwise contaminated. Moisture and contamination can be caused by not using the fan when boiling on the stove top (for over the range models), direct spraying of cleaners, by storing the microwave in an unheated garage or shed, or infestation. I warn my customers to never spray cleaner directly onto the microwave keypad, since the liquid can get inside and "lock up" or even ruin the keypad or controller. Apply an alcohol-based cleaner (such as the purple kind) to a cloth (since paper towels can scratch) and gently wipe it off. I suggest to my customers that they NEVER use any ammonia-based cleaner (like the blue stuff) on a microwave, since the ammonia will crack and distort polycarbonate plastics. If you think you or a friend may want to take a look, please reply here and I can follow up with more targeted information.
