I cannot get internet connection through DI-624. Have to be connected directly in the modem.

depends on how u r hooked to internet. direct thru cat5 cable to modem, or wirelessly thru router? then, you must make sure that your modem is connected to web? make sure modem is connected; plug in to desktop(off) then turn desktop on; go to start, then control panel, then Network and Internet; find out if you see a connection? if so, then right click on network connection, click on Troubleshoot Issues. this will try to resolve your internet connectivity. if you still cannot get online, call your internet provider for more specific steps in fixing.

Can you get into the router setup page? Connect the modem to the WAN port of the router. Then connect one pc (to start do not connect to a switch port beside the WAN port). Get into the setup page (usually http://192.168.1.1), and ensure that your modem is connected (to internet), that you have internet access enabled, and that DHCP is turned on. If all of this is ok, try turning the power off to modem and router; then power on modem, and when it has reset, turn on the router.

Since you have a new modem the DI-604 needs to be reconfigure to work with the new modem , if you have the setup CD for the router yuo can just simply run it so it will configure the router to work with the new modem but if not you can manually configure the router by accessing its setup page where youc an do some changes on the router settings including the internet connection settings if you're not familiar on how to do that it will be better if you can contact a tech support group that can walk you through with the process, you can contact this number for help 1-877-787-8749 they are open 24/7....

Perhaps one of your ethernet cables is bad?

When everything is connected, the "WAN" light on your router should go on, as well as the lights for whatever network connections your are using for your computer.

Obviously the cable that you used to connect your computer directly to the modem is working, so try replacing the other one.

If you havn't changed anything in the router - Then open Interner Explorer
In the web address bar type - 192.168.0.1 press enter (or go)

Became new customer to comcast-got the bundle package, internet,phone,cable. Voice overlay modem to accomodate internet and phone lines. Did not use their wireless router-using exsiting router D-Link model...

Can get to the 192.168.0.1 page but can not connect to the internet, i keep getting either low conectivity. or cabel in plugged. i have the di-524 ops is xp


Sounds like your DSL/Cable modem is not talking properly to your new wireless router. Depending on your modem, my first guess and thing to check is that your DSL/Cable modem is in bridge mode to connect to your new wireless router.
