My fridge/freezer turns on and keeps everything cold but when it turns off it makes this shuddering sound. Plus, water is dripping down from freezer and ice/water puddles is forming on my shelves inside the refrigerator and puddles down underneath the crisper drawers. Currently there is ice formed under the drawers.

I am getting water on my shelves which freeze in the back and under my vegetable drawer i get puddles of water.

Sounds like the water drain in the evaporator case is plugged causing the 'defrost' water to overflow instead of going down under the unit where it is evaporated.

You may be able to blow out the plug if you can get to the drain end under the unit. on in the lower part of the fridge.

Water is leaking from an opening in the back surface of the freezer compartment and forming a puddle that freezes and then melts, dripping under the freezer door

Hi,
If you remove the shelves and bins from the lower section of the freezer you will notice in the back of the freezer your drain pan is clogged. Turn off the freezer and use a turkey baster to add hot water to the pan until you clear the clog. This can happen when foreign object slow the water leaving the freezer during defrost and cause it to refreeze stop water from leaving the freezer. Not a big problem or difficult repair. Just clear the drain and remove all the ice from the drain pan. Could take 15 mins or so to complete this..
I hope this helps

Hi I have a Whirlpool Refigerator and it drips water from the frezzer into the refigerator thru the two opening up in the back middle opening from the frezzer to the refigerator. It does this off and on

sounds like the drain live from freezer to outside is clogged. the water isnt making it you the condensate pan but coming out in the refrigerator. try finding and cleaning the drain line.

Moisture dripping from temperature control hood model KTRS21MFAL0

possible that condensation drain line is clogged. This line drains the water from the freezer when it goes into defrost to a small pan loscated above the compressor where when it gets to the pan the heat from the compressor running evaporates the mosture.

Water puddles under the drawers

You have a blocked defrost drain look at item 56  in this picture. you need to clear this drain either with hot water or clear ice that may have accumulated in the trough. to me it looks as if there is possibly a cover over this area so you will need to remove drawers and shelves to get to it. message me back here with any comments or questions.. You can fix this yourself!! thanks Peyton 10058779-00002.png

Water in bottom

do you have the drip pan in place underneath? If yes, does it have a crack in it?

The sudden puddle could be caused each defrost cycle.

Water leaking inside

Unforturnately, I have the same problem. You have to take the bottom panel of you freezer off. You will have ice built up. You will have to remove the ice. In the back, there is a hole that drains to the drip pan, that has become frozen solid. I have this problem about every 30 days. I wish I knew how to fix the problem. My dad has the same refigerator freezer, it's a problem for him too.

if there is water on the top shelves in the fresh food section you may have a drain problem when the freezer defrosts. one other possibility is there is a air leak somewhere could be a bad door seal. when warm air enters it will cause condensation and water will drip on the shelves.I suspect it might be comming from the freezer though. a easy way to check is to remove the back panel in the freezer and check for ice in the drain pan. if there is a blockage use a hair drier to melt the ice and hot water to clear the drain. let me know if this helped you solve your problem Good luck
