The problem is the idler assembly or the black square belt that drives it, this will cause the vcr to shutdown preventing tape transport. The vcr will need to be dismantled for repair, I recommend a tv technician to check your machine with an estimate.
thats is because the servo mechanism chip do not detect the cassette,
when its in the housing could be a sensor or the cassette in switch or mechanism its self (missalignement.)
hope that will help you
regards alan.
If this unit is 4-7 years old then TOSS it. As time goes by the rubber gets soft and the units timing gets whacked. Repair will be more than what it's worth , unless your emotionally attached to it ...
The idler assembly is not engaging the takeup reel correctly. Examine the gearing between the hubs for debris. There are parts available for this deck, but it is difficult to say whether or not you actually need any. Check for the debris first and let me know what you find.
every time i put tape inside vcr it keeps ejecting but every twenty attempts only it works without ejecting. please help Note: my VCR is part of TV and DVD player
may be machnical stuck in playback mode. remove the cover and see the loading arms are near the video head , if not try to release the arm rotating caption wheel smmothly . don't push more force to rotate the wheel.
Is it ejecting the tape when you set up for timed record, or any record mode for that matter? If so, check for the presence of the record lockout tab in the tape. If tab is there, machine should accept it. If machine ejects tape with the tab present, then the sensor which detects tab present or absent is probably afoul. this sensor is often a small switch.
This tab, by the way, is on the backside of the tape, on the left, looking at the tape from the back.
What do you mean 'Tape crunches" Do you mean that there is tape slack, which then crunches when Tape is lifted during Eject? If that is the case, then the Supply Reel Roller Brake is bad. it is a Felt Pad, which needs replacing.
If the entire eject operation is wonky, or if it's timing is bad, then I suspect that One of the eject Gears (On either side of the Mechanism) is damaged and needs to be replaced.
One question, i assume that you are able to eject the Tape eventually, and so - Does the Tape Load into the VCR properly, when you insert it into the machine? This will help me in giving you a better diagnosis.
