My liners always nic someone when im cutting are they to sharp is there anyway to adjust them to not be as sharp

The blade alignment probably just needs adjustment, if you undo the two blade screws a fraction you should be able to move the comb or bottom blade further forward then re-tighten the screws.

Brand new andis trimmer pulling hair and not cutting good

The questions about Andis T-Outliner or Andis Styliner II, about not cutting or pulling hair.
On the Andis T-Outliner trimmer if the sharpness of the blade is worn out, all the tricks and treats won't make this blade to cut hair. Before I do any kind of work to the trimmer, I first test the coil for the right amount power, I can get out of the coil, without this power, it doesn't matter how new or old the trimmer is, the trimmer will not cut hair at all. If the coil is good, I will sharpen the blade and set it according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) after the blade is sharpened and set. The trimmer will need to be, adjusted for alignment to the blade, adjust the power of the coil, and adjust the tension for the blade. All these factors are involved in the Andis T-Outliner to cut hair clean especially lineups or shaving. These adjustments work together for the trimmer to work properly. I know that we all trying to save money, which is part of life, but sometimes frustration will take over and say hell with it, I'll buy another or forget it. Manufactures make mistakes, sometimes the trimmer was not sharpened or adjusted correctly. Any case, what I'm trying to say here, if you try all the tricks & treats and can get your trimmer to work, it may be easier for you to send it to a professional to sharpen & repair the problem and set the blade according to your needs (lineups or shave setting) We specialize on Andis T-Outliner Trimmers. Our complete sharpening & repair service is $19.99 each trimmer, this includes return shipping. We sharpen the blade, adjust and set the blade according to your request (Lineup or Shave setting) make all the necessary adjustments for alignment, power, tension to make your trimmer work better than new. I brought the andis speedmaster with the pivotpro trimmer model pmt-1 as was happy to purchase but when I got home and use the pro trimmers they didn't outline the way I expected I thought they would edge...

Some outliners have an adjustable blade set while others are fixed. You will need to remove the blade set and observe if the movable blade is adjustable forward and backward in relation to the stationary blade. If it is adjustable, take caution no to adjust the two blades completely flush. If they are too close they will nip and pinch and can break the skin.

How do I adjust the blades or sharpen blades on a Andis T-Outliner trimmer? I have some older blades that work farely better then my newer blades that are dull if you ask me. Is there some way to manuver...

Clipper blade sharpeners are availale but the cost of these typically start at about $300 and go as high as several thousand dollars. This makes it unaffordable for home use.
For affordable, professional clipper blade sharpening, I suggest you contact the folks at clipperparts.com

Your clipper moves at just one speed. There is no way to 'speed it up' if it is working correctly.

Want to adjust trimmer so i give a better outline i just bought new blades, not sharp enough

Sometimes the new blades are not sharpen enough, You need to have it resharpen by a professional and adjust to the type of work you want it to do. Also sometimes even if you have the blade resharpen it will not cut, because the trimmer motor needs more power to move the blade side to side faster. On and the Andis GTO T-outliner trimmer this the most comm problem. Try Mannys Sharpening

My GTO model Andis clippers blade is not properly aligning..how do I adjust it? I BOUGHT NEW BLADES FOR MY ANDIS LINER BUT IT STILL DOES NOT CUT SMOOTH AND SHARP. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM.

YOU HAVE TO OPEN DEM UP. TAKE OUT THE SCREWS ON THE TOP DEN TAKE OFF THE BLADE. ONCE YOU HAVE THE BLADE OUT THERE ARE TWO MORE LIL SCREWS UNSCREW THOSE (NOT ALL THE WAY OFF, JUST ENOUGH SO THAT THE BLADE WILL MOVE) ADJUST THE BLADE HOWEVER YOU WANT. IF YOU WANT IT CLOSE FOR A MORE DETAILED CLOSE LINE (NOT TO CLOSE AS DEY WILL CUT YOUR OR THE CLIENTS SKIN). YOU MUST TRY THEM OUT ON YOURSELF SEE IF THEY ARE TOO SHARP, IF THEY ARE TAKE THEM OFF AND ADJUST THEM AGAIN. EASIEST THING TOO DO IS USE A MIRROR, HOLD THE BLADE AGAINST THE MIRROR DEN MOVE IT AT AN 45 ANGLE DEN TIGHTEN THE SCREWS DER (BARBER TRICK).

Adjust blade

On the Andis T-Outliner or Outliner if you have use the trimmer for more than 3 hair cuts or 3 time or more I do not recommend moving the blade, reason why is that you have all ready start or have a sit in or a grooved, I have found that by moving the blade it won't cut at all.You need to resharpen the blade with a professional sharpener and have them reset the blade for the type of hair cut you want. The blade can be set to shave or do line ups, and Fades. This type of trimmer is for that kind of hair cut the professional barber use them all the time. Call Mannys Sharpening 323 263-4697 They have a good rating on Yahoo Local.
I have try many sharpener and had no luck, until a friend of mind told me about Mannys Sharpening, They know what they are talking about highly Professional in thier work.
