Question about Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer
After the first week of perfection, my MP 530 started to tell me that I had two yellow cartridges in it at the same time. I don't, obviously. It is a real hassle to trick it into thinking that I'm correct: I have to open the top, wet the yellow cartridge contacts with spit, and re-insert, while at the same time turning the machine off. Then when I turn it on it will work for about 10 minutes before it tells me this again, and refuses to work. Now today (I've owned it about 4 months, but haven't printed 100 sheets through it yet) it starts to tell me the red cartridge is very low. It isn't. I long for the days of old, when I could just run out of ink and figure it out on my own, but the printer would work and not act so stupid. Any ideas?
I had the same problem with a cartridge for awile and was cursing the machine regularly. Then when the printing began to be faint I realized that what Canon was trying to tell me was that I had neglected to open the vent on the top of the cartridge before installing it.

It would seem that Canon has problems with the 'chips' fitted to the Yellow Cartridge in particular ...
Life is too short to waste time trying to fix it .. since it's only a week old, I suggest you take the whole unit back to the shop and demand a replacement ...

Printers and Faxes
right click on your printer icon
click on "Printing Preferences"
in the dialog box, click on "Maintenance"
click on "View Printer Status"
in the dialog box, click on "Options"
then deselect the "Enable Status Monitor" option
You may get a dialog box asking you something (I didn't get one) but just hold the "Resume" button down for more than 5 seconds and all will be well.
When you need to check the levels, you can either look at the cartridges physically or enable the status monitor (if you are still using 'legal' cartridges in one or more slots).
if not work
try to change your catridge with new one, or you can buy eraser chipset about $ 5-6
with this chip you can refill your ink with any compatible PGI-5
