Here is a simple way:

Start -> run -> type into the box: mspaint

on top left, click on the file menu
from the file menu click on 'from scanner or camera'

Select what you want to do. click Scan to scan the image. or Preview to get a preview of the documents inside the scanner.

when you have scanned your picture or text, you may edit it in the paint program.

Or save it by clicking on the file menu and then save as.

My computer crashed and so I bought new one. Have downloaded Samsung SF-555SP program and now it prints but I can't find any icons to make it scan. Thanks; Marvin ...

Scanning will work as separate plug in, when you request to acquire image from scanner from a standard image editor it will bring the task. Would you mind to provide your operating system and the programs that you are using for image editing so I can provide steps to scan.

Not scanning properly

Hi

This sounds fairly typical of dust, grit or gunk on the scanner "lenz". Could also be that some of the components of the "lenz" have failed or been scratched.

If the unit is still under warranty return to the place of purchase for a replacement. If not and you are totaly bored you could disasemble and give the "lenz"strip (thing wich provides the bright light a bit of a clean with metholated spirits and a lint free cloth/tissue paper. However concidering how inexpensive scaners and multipas's are these days you may be well served just to replace the unit, I know for people from my generation this sort of sticks in our throats because we remember when cheep in the computer industry was measured in thousands of dollars, now it's not just plug and play but fail and throw.

Hmm spend a couple of frustrating hours on a dubious repair or spend one or two hours overtime enjoying myself and get a brand new beastie.

Kind Regards.

How do I scan a document to my computer with the Canon Pixma MP470 printer/scanner? I tried to press scan, but the document never shows up on my computer

Hello!

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Scanners and Cameras
then double click your scanner and follow the wizard

If your scanner does not shou up in the Scanners and Cameras folder,  then you need to install scanner driver located on the CD the Printer/scanner came with

Hope this helps!

Unable to print document 1" top, bottom, andleft and right. Font very small. Margin needs to be aligned with computer

and Hi again,

For some unknown reason(s) our Live Session was cut. Any development(s)?

Pls, in MS Word, have you tried clicking on File and then Print Preview? Would you so kind as to check if the way the document is shown is the same way the document was printed?

If yes, was the right margin as you would want it to be? otherwise, have you checked on the settings of the MS Word document specifically the right indent as shown below in red circle?

Would appreciate if you can post back any developments or even the lack of it.

Cheers.

Once I scan my document and send it to another file the document is bigger then the page

check your scanner settings; your DPI setting is probably too high. decrease it to one of your presets, like copy, black and white scan, or even fax, at about 100 - 200 dpi, and you should be fine.
