No - it's bright out there. Bright light, like a full sun on the beach, dims your perception of the screen. You can check the back light settings, but bright light is going to mess with this kind of lcd screen.

Go to System>Player Settings
And adjust the Contrast.
This is what I've had to do before and is the only thing I can think of right now. Good luck! ;]

Formatting disks for ecor4f

The only way to fix a disk failure is to replace the hard drive. Once hard drive is replaced, if the unit doesn't give an on screen display
stating 'new hard drive detected: format now?' go into the menu
, to the disk section, & select 'format'. Problem should be resolved.

Froze on garmin screen won't give directions

Could be a battery problem not having enough charge to get past the Garmin screen you might need to replace the battery or it might need to be reset.

Not knowing which model of Garmin it is makes it hard to provide a correct solution. ?

If your Garmin Nuvi 1300 is freezing up or not working correctly, a soft reset can be performed. A soft reset unfreezes the unit and brings you back to the main menu. If a soft reset does not solve the problem, or if you are selling your unit and wish to erase all of your saved information, a hard reset can be done. A hard reset restores the original factory settings to the unit. Once the information is deleted, it can not be restored. Turn on the Garmin Nuvi 1300. Press and hold down the "Power" button. Release the button when the main menu is displayed. The unit is now ready to be used. b> Hard Reset b> Turn the Garmin Nuvi 1300 off. Press your finger against the bottom-right corner of the Garmin display screen. Leave your finger in place as you power the unit on. Release your finger when the display screen asks, "Do you want to erase all user data?" Use your finger to tap "Yes." The unit will begin to reboot. Do not use the unit until the main menu is displayed. The reset process should take about 45 seconds. Hope this helps. How to Replace Your Garmin Nuvi 255 Battery

I have a akai ea a7 graphic equalizer deck, its pretty old but has a digital display, but the display seems to have gone very dim, its working perfectly and admire its build quality but i really wanna get...

you need a new fluorescent display unit.... i also have one of these graphics. (mine was occilating on the frquencies set higher than mid level)

the part you need is: IND FL BG-205ZK (Akai part No EM-349875).

if you're fixing it yourself, best to snip the old one off the board each leg at a time near the glass, then unsolder the long pins left on the board (the longer the pins, easier to grab with pliers when unsoldering)..... you'll have a very hard time trying unsolder the lot in one go and probably end up burning the tracks off the board, a desolder pump might help if you want to do it the hard way.

HP Pavilion dv1000 laptop turn off suddenly and cpu fan is working ok. after goes off is hard turn on again, not is battery neither ac adapter but i have seen that many people has the same kind of problem,...

If this happens while you are using it, then that's one thing.

We will get to that later.

If it happens while the unit is just sitting there, then that's another thing.

You probably have an energy savings setting problem that you can easily resolve simply by going into the My Computer equivalent and reconfiguring your length of time prior to shutdown of either the display and/or the hard drive.

Find the "DISPLAY" Icon and click on it and you will find a variety of energy saving routines which you can set to the amount of time that the unit will stay on, even though not in use, after which it will shut down to save energy and wear and tear on your components.

Now, as promised, if this occurs while your unit is in use and just shuts down while you are typing, then your unit requires service by a professional as there apparently is some kind of shortage which with further use could damage your unit.

I hope this helps, but if you have further questions, feel free to ask.

My display went completely dead. Been dead for a while. Just today I fixed it. You have to change a small capacitor, on display board labelled C3. Very hard to find the exact one which is, 35V - 68 microfarad, so I replaced it with 35V - 100 microfarad. Works just fine. You have to be handy, or find a friend that can do this, cause you will need to solder.

Anyways hope this helps. By the way the capacitor cost me 15 cents canadian.

Good Luck
