My maytag atlantis wash machine is living my clothes soaking wet some times works good and others not

Most likely the bearing / cam kit that releases brake is worn and not doing its job.

You might need to replace the drain pump. Make sure to listen if you hear the pump kicking in

make sure the drain hose in the back is as high as the machine and is not being slowed down in any way. if the water is not getting pushed out fast enough this can cause thisto happen. another thing is you might be putting to much clothes in it try it on a large load but half full of clothes see how that works. good luck

If you don't have a sewer vent pipe for your washer you will have a drain problem. I had the same problem, some loads drained fine and others were still soaking wet. The air from the vent allows draining. Since my plumber added the vent pipe, my water drains very fast and no more soaking loads.

You may need a belt or a pump. Call sears they will help more.

how much water is in the bottom of the tub and is it louder than normal if so could be small droplets of water leaking from tub seal if not the pump is restricted by something and req replacement

just cause pump moves doesnt mean its working

If you have a regular tub/agitator machine you can fill 1/2 with water, add two cups of white vinegar & allow it to agitate but not empty. Give the machine a break to 'soak', then agitate again. Allow the vinegar-water to sit in the tub between rounds. Do this for the whole day (on weekend?) to give the machine a good cleaning. Often soaking in vinegar will loosen trapped debris so it can go down the drain. It will clean the machine very well even if it does not stop your lint problem. Sounds like there must be some part in the machine that got clogged w/ lint or that there is a hidden lint trap. Read the instruction booklet or try to contact the manufacturer via toll free phone or internet for troubleshooting on the problem. Good Luck!
