i have a similar problem, it will charge just fine plugged into the wall, but when I attach it to my computer, the player just freezes up and the computer doesn't recognize it. I've tried different usb cords, also my printer works fine from the usb so that can't be the problem. I can't add any more files to my zen vision:m!

I too have this problem, and I did as suggested and downloaded the new firmware but to no avail. The problem remains. Help?

I downloaded the firmware update and when i went to install it, it said to connect my player but when I do, the computer doesn't recognize it. It will charge just fine but that is it. I get the usb device not recognized balloon, that says is has malfunctioned and windows doesn't recognize it. The mp3 player freezes up after this. Thank you for the help but I still can't do anything with this player anymore.

I finally fixed it!!!

//To format zen = 1.Detach the player from the PC and power the unit off.
2.Slide the Power switch towards the power icon and hold the switch.
3.Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove.
4.Release the Power button when the Recovery Mode appears.
5.Select Format (All) and select Yes to format the player.
6.After the player has finished formatting, select Reboot.
7.Retransfer the tracks to the player.

after formatting it again press reboot and pkug into comp and it works!!!

My samsung Yepp T9 froze and won't unfreeze

To turn it off try emergency "turn of combination": Menu + Record buttons. This also will help you to reset wrong parameters in your device.

Reset the player by inserting a paerlcip into the reset hole. If that fails, go to Philips' website and upgrade the firmware on your player to solve the freezing issue permanently. Actually, don't go to Philips website - run the Philips Device Manager and select Update. If the device manager won't recognize the player, unplug the GoGear, hold in either the shuffle button or volume + and reconnect it to the computer until a Found New Hardware Wizard window pops up.

My Sansa e250R, 2 gigs, froze. Help!

It seems like your E250R is experiencing a temporary system error due to a corrupted song, and needs to be reset. Try to "Soft Reset" your player, press and hold the "Menu" button until the LCD light and scroll wheel light turn off. Since the player was probably left on for more than 7 hours (as you indicated), you would need to re-charge the player before proceeding further. Charge it for at least 2-3 hours. Next, try to format the player to rid of any corruption then re-transfer the songs. If you have subscription songs, then I would suggest to delete the song you last played which caused the error. I hope this helps. There is another solution for the player, but for now this might actually resolve the issue. Let me know the results. :)
