Always worked before but now all it does is charge it so unable to transfer anything. It actually froze so had to reset which I had done before only this time everything was erased when I switched it back on. And now the PC wont recognise it. Also I no longer have the installation CD. Any Suggestions please??
//To format zen = 1.Detach the player from the PC and power the unit off.
2.Slide the Power switch towards the power icon and hold the switch.
3.Push the end of a pin-like object (for example, a straightened paper clip) into the reset hole, press gently and remove.
4.Release the Power button when the Recovery Mode appears.

Been using this for a few months. Froze up on same song while on vacation last month, and continued to play same song on repeat until battery went down. Now is frozen with "Do Not Disconnect" as it was being charged on my laptop. Attempted to unplug and plug back in and Windows gives DO NOT DISCONNECT!!!!!
Reset the player by inserting a paerlcip into the reset hole. If that fails, go to Philips' website and upgrade the firmware on your player to solve the freezing issue permanently. Actually, don't go to Philips website - run the Philips Device Manager and select Update. If the device manager won't recognize the player, unplug the GoGear, hold in either the shuffle button or volume + and reconnect it to the computer until a Found New Hardware Wizard window pops up.
Q. Zen V is dead "If your Zen V is dead, wont respond to anything, try this, plug it in to the computer, hold the power switch in the on position, THEN trigger the reset button, worked like a charm for mine, I had thought it a lost cause." Q. How to reset Zen v + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=22T_gkkZjmM&feature=related
It seems like your E250R is experiencing a temporary system error due to a corrupted song, and needs to be reset.
Try to "Soft Reset" your player, press and hold the "Menu" button until the LCD light and scroll wheel light turn off.
Since the player was probably left on for more than 7 hours (as you indicated), you would need to re-charge the player before proceeding further. Charge it for at least 2-3 hours.
Next, try to format the player to rid of any corruption then re-transfer the songs. If you have subscription songs, then I would suggest to delete the song you last played which caused the error.
I hope this helps. There is another solution for the player, but for now this might actually resolve the issue. Let me know the results. :)
