When the computer goes to screensaver mode, the screensaver does not come on, the monitor says "no sync" and then when I click to get the screen to come back on, the picture has shifted to the right about an inch. The only way I can fix it is to adjust the graphics properties. But that only lasts until the screen saver tries to come back on. Don't know if it is the monitor or the computer.

Probably not a problem with the monitor but rather the power settings for windows. right click on the desktop and go down to properties select the screensaver tab and click the power settings button. Under here you can change the settings for when the monitor shuts down. Personally I would select never.
Dell monitors automatically go into power-save mode after a preset
amount of time when the computer is inactive. The Dell monitor will go
completely black, instead of showing a screensaver. This doesn't mean
that your Dell computer
has shut down. Instead, this allows your monitor to essentially turn
off until it's needed again. You can change how long it is before the
Dell monitor goes into power-save mode by changing your display
any key on your keyboard or move your mouse. Either will turn off
power-save mode. Alternately, you can press the power button on your
Dell computer tower or laptop.
any key a second time if the monitor goes from power-save to stand-by
mode. Stand-by mode allows the screensaver to appear.
your user name and password into the login prompt if your computer
requires a login. Press "Enter" to begin using your Dell computer.
the display settings on your Dell monitor to prevent your monitor from
going into power-save mode prematurely. Right-click anywhere on your
desktop and choose "Properties." Click the "Screensaver" tab and press
"Power." Beside "Turn off Monitor," choose a time amount from the
drop-down list and press "Apply."
right click anywhere on a blank area of the desktop and go to properties go to screensaver and click on it now and the bottom right of the screensaver page will give you power options just open it up and you will see power options this page lets you choose how long before the screen and the harddrive turns off if you want it to never turn off under the time choices for the devices just go to never at the verry bottom of the time choices next took at the hibernation and click on it and set is as you would like it if you turn it off the computer will never go into the standby mode
i hope that this is really helpfull for you
