I spent over 8 hours trying to fix this. Thanks to God for providing the solution through the Internet and people like you.
Go to the Intel website and update your chipset. Use their auto detection tool to find the right one. Mine was 945PL Express.
Install it and reboot. Check the System Devices tab under Control Panel|System|Hardware devices. Make sure the that "Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for HD Audio" doesn't have a red X on it. If it does, Right Click and enable it.
You may also need to get the RealTek Audio driver from the realtek site. try here:
