Same problem here! All text chinese (or japanese..?) and the machine (MP810) printed 2 test pages which seem OK I guess... Power off and back on again didn't help.

Would very much like to change the language, but how does one do that when all info is in chinese...???

exact same problem!  Solution looks like it will resolve the issue - however, I've got some sort of error screen coming up (in chinese/japanese) which I obviously do not understand and this won't allow me to return to the home screen and start the process.

The solution posted works just fine.  If, like me, you cannot get to the home screen to start that procedure you must press the "home" and "cancel/reset" buttons simultaneously ("cancel" button is red downwards triangle on far right of panel).

I had this problem - and needed to have paper in the paper feeder for the printer to print out a test piece - once that was done - it went to home page.

Will not print

If its sat unused for a long period of time you will have to manually thru the software, make it print out a few test sheets to clean the print heads.
it took me 12 trys once to get my print head cleaned because I did not use my printer for 3 months. Now once every 2 weeks I print out something.
Its either that or you may end up having to replace the print heads if they get to clogged up. But I would try the test printing pages first.

Also, check your ink levels!

Canon MP 270 spooler problems paper jam problems scanning probs

I have had problems with this printer, too. See my Amazon review here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B002LVUKL0/ref=cm_cr_dp_hist_1?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&filterBy=addOneStar

(Mine is the second one down).

The Canon MP270 does seem to have a few problems. It's not one of Canon's finest products, to say the least. It seems to be getting a reputation for problems, problems...

I gave up and bought a HP Deskjet printer instead. I know that's not a fix, but I found it was the best solution!

Mystery Print Problem with Canon iPF8000

If it's within 12 months of purchase, Canon will replace free, although you may have to hound them a bit. This problem has occured twice (2 new heads) on our IPF8100 each time about 9 months in.

Suddenly stopped scanning and now won't copy or print b/c keeps saying it's still scanning. Canon mp830. Scanning Wizard starts but just dies in the middle. Any button I'm not hitting or solution you can...

Any lightning strikes locally?
You can try to reset back to factory by removing cartridges and head.Power off unit ,then unplug for 45 minutes.repower and install all.
Do a nozzle check and see what happens.

Canon MP 730 prints wrong color tones

I was having a similar problem-- what was happening was the print cartridge head seemed to be letting the colors leak into each other. (the science behind this is beyond me!)-- I noticed that instead of being cyan/magenta/yellow, my yellow cartridge had actually turned green, magenta was picking up blue and was turning purple, etc etc. I ended up replacing the printer's printhead and all the color cartridges and then it worked.
You can order printheads online.
Not sure if this fixes the original reason why they got all mixed up in the first place-- if the printer will continue to allow the print head to leak the colors into each other-- but hopefully that's a fixit!

Cyan cartridge

My IP4200 started doing this about a week ago it tells me I have two Cyan cartridges. I don't, cartridges are canon cartridges and were changed four months ago worked fine until now. Pressing the middle button the resume button is working eventually, so far, but I don't know for how long. Seems like a hardware problem as I deleted and reinstalled the software no difference and everything worked fine for the first four months.
