Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

Range control panel

Electronic clock and oven control went bonkers after a power outage.
I can't reset the time or oven temp. I shut the breaker off and on but it didn't help.
Any help would be appreciated.
thanks!

Replace the electronic clock.

Sorry, I've done it a hundred times, and forgot that most people haven't.

Unplug the machine, remove the back cover behind the console. There's usually four screws holding the clock to the console. Unplug the connectors one at a time and replace them on the new clock. Remove the old clock and ***** down the new one. If you didn't buy a clock overlay, you may need to gently peel the overlay from the old clock and place it on the new one.

Frigidaire GAS range

Hi Jo, thank you for your question! Let's try resetting the appliance by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important to wait roughly ten minutes and then turn the unit back. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, your range could possibly have a faulty EOC (electronic oven control) or a potential wiring failure. I would suggest contacting an experienced service technician to determine the precise cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

Instructions on how to setup the clock

If the front side the oven has melted so that you are unable to do this.

Then the plastic cover would need to be removed, I beleave the buttons would still work without the plastic cover, but I do recommend geting this serviced by a professional but if you must get it to work right now.

I don't have a service manual so I dont know exactly how to remove the cover.

I have a Frigidaire Electric range Model FW647W-7 Type 351. It began to show an F1 error on the panel. I reset the power circuit breaker and the panel is no longer powered until I turn on an element...

This is the main control board there talking about. The repairclinic.com will have it. Here is the one I think it is...

We had a power outage and when the power came on the oven says it is locked but is not latched and will not clear. Randy

If you cannot clear the display with the reset/clear button on the range control panel, go to your electric panel and trip the breaker for the range/oven for at least 2 minutes, then turn the breaker back on.

Sometimes when power is lost due to a storm outage, the drop in voltage can cause some of the electronics to act funny and "think" certain buttons were pushed. Simply turning off and back on the power at the panel should clear any minor problem.

If this doens't clear/resolve the problem, it is possible that the electronic controls were damaged and a replacement control module is needed.

Try the easy fix first and see if that helps.

I have a jenn air oven and stove top. the

Just a suggestion, turn the breaker off to the range and leave off for 30 secs. This may reset the board. That's the easy way. If that doesn't help I'll try to find more on it.
