Hi Jo, thank you for your
question! Let's try resetting the appliance by either unplugging it or flipping
the household circuit breaker to the off position. It is important to wait
roughly ten minutes and then turn the unit back. If resetting the power does
not correct the issue, your range could possibly have a faulty EOC (electronic
oven control) or a potential wiring failure. I would suggest contacting an
experienced service technician to determine the precise cause to reduce the
risk of unnecessary parts.
If the front side the oven has melted so that you are unable to do this.
Then the plastic cover would need to be removed, I beleave the buttons would still work without the plastic cover, but I do recommend geting this serviced by a professional but if you must get it to work right now.
I don't have a service manual so I dont know exactly how to remove the cover.
If you cannot clear the display with the reset/clear button on the range control panel, go to your electric panel and trip the breaker for the range/oven for at least 2 minutes, then turn the breaker back on.
Sometimes when power is lost due to a storm outage, the drop in voltage can cause some of the electronics to act funny and "think" certain buttons were pushed. Simply turning off and back on the power at the panel should clear any minor problem.
If this doens't clear/resolve the problem, it is possible that the electronic controls were damaged and a replacement control module is needed.
Turn off the breaker and wait for 5 minutes. the follow this 3 steps: --> After turn the breaker back on, go to the range and press "OFF", "OFF", "START", then click on the "clock set", there is a message on the display saying that do you want to delete the error, at this time press on the "START" again. And wait for a while until the everything on the screen disappear except the clock time. Hope this will fix yours. It fixed mine.
