Question about Teac (DW-224EA-AM6) CD-RW/DVD-ROM (Combo) Burner

DV-W28SL DVD combo

Greetings, We are the technical group servicing the Kodak order staions here in the Philippines. As of now we have more than 100 units of the order stations using the DVD combo drive. It is critical that the DVD combo drive runs normally since its the source of images to be printed and loading of the software of the order stations when they break down.
Its a TEAC branded DVD combo with model no.DV-W28SL and part no. 19771472-75. I think its an OEM model for the Kodak kiosk. Can you provide us with the supplier or refer us to the distributor for the unit. I hope you can source and provide the unit since we have more than 100 of the Kodak Kiosks models nationwide. Please give me a call once there is info of the DVD combo. Thanks Erwin M. Matic eGSS IT Services 2247 Chino Roces Avenue Makati City 1299 Philippines Tel. Is the replacement drive a new unused drive from the factory or did you purchase it from another supplier? Just off hand, I'd say it's not the correct drive for your system. Laptop drives do not have jumpers to designate what drive it is (like desktop drives do). They come from the factory pre-configured and have no way to change from say master to slave, or cs.

I want to locate service center of aiwa in the area of quezon city, philippines

The Aiwa Corporation is a consumer-electronics company from Japan which started in the early 1970's. It has its momentary popularity in the country for the comparable quality of its appliances particularly audio equipment at cheaper prices. In early 2000, the company plummets towards insolvency and was acquired by the biggest electronics company in the world, Sony Corporation.
Aiwa was given a new lease of life as a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony. In 2004 however, 2004 Sony has shelved its support for the Aiwa brand as manufacture and distribution of Aiwa products were discontinued. Similarly in the Philippines, the Solid Group Inc. (SGI), the local company in charge of the marketing, sales and service of Sony products had also put off the marketing and distribution of the Aiwa appliances.
By 2006, Aiwa products were no longer sold in the market around the world. Technically therefore, there exists no Aiwa Service Center anymore. However, Sony, its mother company and the Solid group in the Philippines may still provide repair services for Aiwa products. For service repairs of your old Aiwa appliances, you may call 330-1111 for service inquiries or email customercare@solidservice.com.ph. You may also contact the Sony customer hotline no. 02-8787600 or 09178077669 or email info.sph@ap.sony.com.

Service plan

Greetings sisystem,

As long as you are within your return period of 30 days on the product, you can call 1-888-BestBuy™ and ask for the Consumer Relations Department. Once there, please tell the person who answers the phone you would like to purchase a "walkaway" service plan on your unit. There is a 2 year and a 4 year option! The representative should be able to process your sale for the service plan as long as you have a major credit card. It can even be placed on your Best Buy™ card!

I hope this helps!

Thank you,

Dorothy
