Question about Proscan PS36600 36" TV

Proscan ps52810 52 inch projection - composite/HD problem

Hi, I have a background in Electronics Engineering, but ** schematics or service manual so I defer to the experts! My TV has been working well for 7 years. It has had quite a bit of use. The other day, I started hearing a buzzing sound in the speakers (maybe somewhere between 60 - 120 hz). After this I **ticed a faint red line sweeping up the screen. Now the top of the picture distorts when white/light colors appear and occasionally picture goes black (you can hear a relay clicking - maybe it lost sync?). I am running HD through the 3 composite video inputs (Y, Pb ...).

The strange thing is that it works fine using the coax input (set to channel 3). Of course I can't run HD that way. Is there a composite input board that can be replaced? Maybe there is a local oscillator that has degraded?

Any help from you Gurus would be grealty appreciated! I am **t in the position to buy a new tv and I will miss my HD!!!

I want to know where is the fuses because I can't start my t.v. manual or with the control I open the back and front can see no image no contact nothing what can I do?

I have a samsung projection tv that turns off after it is on for a few minutes. It is a 48 inch HD tv. Is it the lamp or timer some sort of timer that turns it off automatically? Ray

Trying to hookup vhs analog player to hd proscan


your toshiba player should have output composite video and audio which are color coded Yellow for video, red and white for audio same goes for proscan hdtv. connect between the two keeping in mind color of cables. If the toshiba player is really old you can connect the RF cable output to antenna input to the proscan tv and watch taped programs from the player on channel 3 of the proscan tv. If then you want to keep the hookup and still watch HDTV connect the antenna to the toshiba vcr and when you shut off the vcr you can now watch the hdtv channels as usual because now you are bypassing the antenna to the Proscan tv. HD 1080 Series (WD-55809) - Color convergence issue


I don't know of illustrated instructions but I can provide you with the service manual for your TV. It does have illustrations of disassembly and components as well as schematics. Your set very likely needs new convergence IC chips. This is a common problem with all projection TVs. The repair is not expensive ($60-75 in parts)  but does involve unsoldering and removing the old chips and soldering in new ones. Some times there are some fuses that need to be replaced as well. Hello lindseyskirk,

This is a common problem with this TV set as it uses the ITC222 chassis. The problem is usually localized to a group of capacitors
CP120, CP140, and CP150. If you have a background in electronics I can send you the schematics and you can unsolder them and replace them using the schematic to get the values from. If you do not have a background in electronics, I would suggest you have a qualified Television Technician do the replacement for you.

My rca tv will power on and off 3times but never completely power on


Hello All,

This problem is quite common in these type set which employ the use of the Thompson ITC222 chassis.
There are three capacitors that create this situation, they are:
CP120, CP140, and CP150. If you have a background in electronics and know how to solder well, this is an easy problem to take care of. This just requires the replacing of these capacitors.
So if you do have a background in electronics I have the schematic if you need it.

If you do not have a background in electronics I would suggest that you have qualified TV technician do this for you.

The necessary concepts for real-time processor programming, re-entrant code and interrupt signaling will be introduced. Laboratory sessions will culminate in the construction of a multi-module robotic system that exemplifies methods introduced during this course.
Recommended background: RBE 2002, ECE 2801, CS 2223, MA 2051
This course will be offered starting in 2008-09.

Control systems as applied to navigation will be presented. Communication, remote control and remote sensing for mobile robots and tele-robotic systems will be introduced. Wireless communications including wireless networks and typical local and wide area networking protocols will be discussed. Computers are used extensively for system modeling, analysis, and control. Hands-on projects will include the reverse engineering and modeling of various physical systems. Physical models may sometimes also be built and tested.

This course introduces students to robotics within manufacturing systems. Through the laboratory work, students will become familiar with robotic programming (using a robotic programming language VAL II) and the robotic teaching mode. Another point; HD Ready does not mean that it is HD compatible without the addition of an optional part.
The title only implies that it can be adapted to HD reception.
If you did not purchase it with the set, check your user guide to see what you need to make it whole.
You may have to seek this add-on on eBay since it is not guaranteed that Sony will still offer it.

Hi there, you seem helpful, I have a Proscan PS61670 rear projection TV, I believe i need to replace the IC however in my service schematic it shows the "Digital Convergence IC" on the board as a STV2040T,...


Thats an obselete IC. Your model came with two chassis designs the CTC195 and the PTK195 could you verify which chassis your model has and I will try to cross refernce it to a substitute part number for you. Please respond to this same post when replying.
