Hi,

The PC2100 DDR should be fine on that board. Each slot (which there are 3) will hold 1 gb of ram each. So finding 1GB PC2100 isn't the easiest, you can find 512mb, and put 1 512 in slot 1 and 1 in slot 2, There you'll have your 1GB.

Good Luck,

Don't forget to leave a rating.

Thanks
Mark

Hi lchangkee...
If you want to upgrade your ram, all you do is remove the ram that is in the computer, and replace it with compatible ram (same number) an example of that would be if your ram was SODIMM 512MB PC2100 DDR 266 512 MB LAPTOP 200pin MEMORY, then that is the type of ram you will want to replace it with but more like this.
SODIMM 2GB PC2100 DDR 266 512 MB LAPTOP 200pin MEMORY notice the only thing that changed was the amount from 512 mb to 2 gb. Most memory cards can be removed without any problem...refer to your owners manual as to where the ram is located Please take time to rate me

I want to extend the RAM memory on my NEC computer. The motherboard is a GA-8SIMLNF Rev.1.1. It has two memory slots and presently one slot is occupied with a PC2100U-20330-A1 256 DDR 133 CL2 memory. I...

Check your manual (Gigabyte will have the manual on their website), to make sure your motherboard can handle 1Gb of Ram, or more. Generally in my experience, medium aged motherboards handle 1GB per slot, max (mine uses PC3200, not PC2100, and will take up to 4GB in its 4 slots).

You'll want PC2100 ram (easily searched for on http://www.newegg.com), either in 2x512MB sticks, or a single 1GB stick for your open slots (bringing you up to 1.25GB).

Do this model supporsts win xp service pack 2

Hi.

This unit has a Pentium 4 2GHz single core processor, and does support Windows XP SP2.

The standard memory installed on this unit was 256KB RAM, in order to run XP efficently you will need to upgrade the RAM. I suggest upgrading RAM to the maximum amount allowed of 2 GB RAM.

To upgrade the RAM to 2 GB you will need 2 modules of 1GB PC2100 184 pin DIMM ECC each.

the bios might be seeing it but windows might not, the possibility exists that windows is not able to view the full amount of ram installed try this. go to the start menu > accessories > system tools option and look for the system information tool, this will tell you more about the ram installed, note: windows dose on occasion report the wrong amount of ram when their is a 64 bit os installed or their is a 64 bit system

If you want good purformance you can upgrade your computer by purchasing another 512MB DDR400 RAM and install it on another RAM slot.If your computer have only one working RAM slot, you can purchase 1GB DDR400 RAM & install it on older RAM place. I have a Gigabyte-GA-8SIMLNF motherboard and recently bought 2gb (2*1gb)of pc2100 DDR and am getting the no ram beep,it is labeled ecc ramwill this not work?

Hi,
Your motherboard does not support ECC RAM. You'll have to buy a PC2100 nonECC DDR RAM. Also, it supports a maximum of 2 GB RAM, i.e; 2 RAMs each of 1GB in each slot.

Hope this answers your query. Thanks.

I want to upgrade my ram what type of ram should i use and how what is the maximum amount of ram i can upgrade to?

Hi,
Memory Upgrade for Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop, the Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop takes the PC2100 DDR SDRAM SODIMMs Memory Type, and comes installed with 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB (removable) of Memory. You can upgrade your Sony VAIO PCG-K35 Laptop to up to a maximum of 1.0 GB Memory, the system has 2 sockets to install Memory, already with 512 MB = 256 MB (removable) + 256 MB (removable) standard Memory installed. For best Laptop performance use the maximum amount of allowed Memory per slot for your Laptop.

Can i install 1GB ddr2 on P4VMM2 Motherboard? i want to upgrade my pc; board is: can i P4VMM2 Motherboard; cani i use 1GB ddr2 on this and a 512 MB if vid.card? [email protected]

Hi,

Unfortunetly you cannot use ddr2 memory on this motherboard. The motherboard supports only PC2100/PC1600 DDR memory if you have version 8.1 of the motherboard. If you have v5.0 of the motherboard than you can only use sdram or ddr 266Mhz RAM. The same goes for the video card. The p4vmm2 motherboard is a rather old motherboard so I don't think it will payoff to upgrade the computer. It will be probably the best if you buy another computer.

RAM upgrate

you can upgrade to a max of 2gb on that board. These are your 1gb options: 1GB PC2700 333MHz DDR Memory, 1GB PC2100 266MHz DDR Memory, and 1GB PC3200 400MHz Non-ECC Unbuffered 184-pin DDR DIMM Memory. Install a set of any of these and your off and running.
