Question about Saeco Incanto Coffee Maker

1 Answer

Prime indicator always flashing after 3 seconds (saeco incanto classic)

I have a saeco incanto classic and when using the stream to prime the machine the pump stop after a few seconds and the prime indicator flash althought that hot water is coming **rmally from the stream wand (the same when making expresso). I suspect that one of the two thermostats on the boiler is **t longer working, and that because ** decrease in temperature is detected, the micro processor thinks that ** cold water is coming from the pump. Is this right? and where can I buy these thermostats?
thanks

Finally I found the wiring diagram of the machine at http://www.partsguru.com/SaecoIncantoCla...
and what I though to be an electric valve is actually a flowmeter
so I suspect now that it is the faulting part

probably my first message was a little bit unclear,
after switching on the machine, it perfectly works
    (expresso, or stream wand)
flow, pressure and temperature are correct
and after a few seconds it stops and the prime indicator flashes

the flowmeter is in the cold water pipe
between the tank and the pump

hmmm..well..that flow meter only measures rate of the heated product, not it's relative temperature..and you do need a certain pressure to be maintained. are all the seals apparently good on machine? check all the connecting parts, visually

ahh..well..then..thank you..that does indicate a flow obstruction, and the flow meter, may in fact be the case. what I'm unsure of is whether the flowmeter is in the path of the steam, or simply in parallel, monitoring it. You have the schematic, What does it indicate?

ok..well..then, that would qualify as a potential obstacle, and can easily jam/clog during operation.

you may want to see if you can find a part number on that flowmeter, before ordering online, or disassembly.

After descaling, the lights continually flash as if the machine needs priming. have primed several times, but to no avail, lights still flash. Solution please?

The flow meter may be clogged in machine. I wrote a solution for the Caffe Charisma Saeco model here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t377912-saeco_caffe_charisma_lights_not_stop
I would find the parts diagrams for you model, open it up and rule out the flow meter. GL...Will

Hi, I a problem with my Saeco s-class incanto classic coffee machine. The two coffee cup lights are flashing green the water light is flashing red. I prime by turning the steam valve and hardly any water...

Try this, when you run the hot water cycle to prime machine and it stops putting out water push in on the knob if that works then replace the tap rod assembly or the whole steam valve assembly.

I have a Saeco Incanto Classic and the ventilate message will not disappear, even after sending 4 full watertanks through the steam nozzle. The solution posted above does not work.

Having read the other reviews here, I was prepared for the cryptic "VENTILATE" message. (The manual refers to this procedure as "Loading the circuit", which doesn't help to clarify things.) Of course this refers to what Americans would call "priming" the machine. As mentioned in another review, there is a plastic hand pump supplied for priming, but that is only needed in the event that the electric pump fails to self-prime. All I had to do (following the quick-start instructions) was to select the Hot Water function; the internal pump quickly primed itself. i hope this helps Lee Davidian

Machine won't prime

Try lifting the water tank, then setting it back in place, and then priming the machine.

I have a Saeco Incanto RS Espresso Machine. The prime light is on, but the machine won't prime. Very little water of steam comes out of the wand.

You need to manually prime it using the priming bulb that came with it. Instructions are in the manual. Remove water tank. Fill priming bulb. Hold priming bulb on water inlet. They don't inter-connect, so just hold it on there as best you can. Turn the machine on, turn steam knob on, and gently, slowly squeeze the bulb to force water into the machine. It works best when the machine is cold, because you want to get liquid water in there, and not have it displaced by steam.
