Vegata01,
The hard drive in a video game console is used for game progress saves and have ** idea why anyone would want to use a consoles hard drive to save music, when you can burn CD's full of MP3's and play them on your game console if it has an optical drive (CD/DVD ROM).
That's what MP3 players and USB hard drives are for (my car stereo supports USB and I have a USB hardrive that I store MP3's on to play on it.
Did I understand your question as you intended?
Good Luck.

Even if you could transfer music files to your gaming consoles hard drive, how are you planning on accessing them through the console for playback?
Again, playing them in the optical drive would allow you to use your gaming controller to select tracks, pause, play, skip, etc....

Based on your concern, I suggest trying the following steps:

1. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USB cable.
2. Press the "home" button on the PSP
--> at the lower left of the screen you can see the home button.
3. Use the left-right directional buttons to find "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USB Connection" on the PSP.
4. Press the "X" button, your PSP should display "USB Connection".
5. Please wait until your computer tells you that a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:
6. Click on the drive letter that corresponds to the PSP unit.
7. Now create a new folder on that drive and name it "psp".
8. Within the new "psp" folder create another folder, and name it "music".
9. Copy your desired mp3 files into the new "music" folder.
10. When you're done copying your desired music tracks, press the "O" button on the PSP to get out of USB connect mode.

To play the music, Use the left-right arrows to move to the music area, then the up-down arrows to find "Memory Stick". Chose that folder by pressing the "X" button again, and you should be able to find all your favorite music!

Can't upload a CD on my xbox

If you have the (fall update), you should have that option. When you put a game in make sure it isn't on auto-play. Under the play game box, the option to download to hard drive is the Y button. To burn normal music CD to your hard drive you will have to go to music, then current disc. There is no option for downloading an MP3 disc though. The console will only play MP3's. I hope this helps you friend.

no. you need a memory stick or a flash drive (also called thumb drive or USB drive).
The Ps3 cannot save programs or files other than music, pictures and videos on the internal Hard Disk.

    Trouble

More seriously, here are the steps you'll need to go through to get your music to download successful from your Windows PC to your new Sony PSP unit:

    1. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USB cable. (about $10: buy a USB cable for your PSP)
    2. Press the "home" button on the PSP (it's a tiny button to the lower left of the screen) then use the left-right directional buttons to find "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USB Connection" on the PSP.
    3. Press the "X" button (you got it, the round button with the "X" on it) and your PSP should display "USB Connection".
    4. In a moment or two your computer should tell you that a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic hard drive, usually E: or F:
    5. Click on the drive letter that corresponds to the PSP unit.
    6. Now create a new folder on that drive and name it "psp".
    7. Within the new "psp" folder create another folder, and name it "music".
    8. Copy your desired mp3 files into the new "music" folder.
    9. When you're done copying your desired music tracks, press the "O" button on the PSP to get out of USB connect mode.
Now you're ready to go! Use the left-right arrows to move to the music area, then the up-down arrows to find "Memory Stick". Chose that folder by pressing the "X" button again, and you should be able to find all your favorite music! Note that the PSP running older firmware (firmware is the "operating system" of the PSP) does not support any Windows Media formats i.e WMA & WMV, so any music you have in that format must be converted to MP3 before copying to your PSP. Fortunately, Sony's very own Image Converter 2.1 can convert all your music with a very simple GUi and will then also manage all the measuring and transfering for you too.
