Question about Brother HL 5140 Laser Printer
The fixing unit failure of my Brother HL-5140 started after extracting a jammed page. Following the instructions in the manual has for a while restored the unit so I could print again a few pages until it fails again.
After taking the fixing unit out and cleaning a little build-up of dirt on the thermal sensor the unit worked again fine for a couple of weeks. Now the unit fails again after printing just one or two pages.
Should I replace the thermal sensor or the small circuit board it is connected to, if I can them? Where could I get them? The heating circuit must be intact because the printed output is fine when the printer works.
Thanks for any advise.
Actually, replace them both, since the sensor and board are integrated...besides you'll find that the new set works better than one new, one old.
