  • milkmaid Mar 10, 2008

but i already did that just yesterday.. and its the 4th time ive done so in the past yr.. after reinstalling this time i thought the problem would disappear on its own - i used the toshiba A100 product recovery disc (takes it back to factory state.. im sure u already know this) i kept getting an error message of 'code 10 - device cannot start' each time i tried to enable the bluetooth radio (this is b4 i reinstalled...)
does this help? and i dont think i have the option to reinstall from recovery disc in safe mode? right?

  • milkmaid Mar 10, 2008

... i also called toshiba support line and was advised there were only 2 sites where i would find an xp compatible bluetooth stack....by toshiba... so i went and dl the software again and reinstalled it but the same thing happened... when it came to the part of installing bluetooth driver it stopped and asked me to plug in bluetooth device and click ok... i couldnt make any sense of this as the bluetooth device is an internal model! the support girl also suggested i dl & install 1.toshiba common module driver & 2. toshiba control driver again.. i then asked what options were available to me if these steps didnt work and she said i would have to take it to a repairer... this is something i am trying to avoid basically...
thank you again.. i hope all this extra info helps

you know, I can't find any reference to Bluetooth working with this machine..can you provide the exact model number A100-????

well..re install the entire operating system, from disk. I would NOT suggest fooling around with the stack inside of windows. it's easier to re install the whole o/s..data should be fine, as long as you do NOT reformat the drive during any step

I am NOT so sure that your computer has the bluetooth installed. It MAY be compatible of course, but did you specifically have it installed. It's an option, not a standard in that model.

well..I can understand that the brochures MAY have suggested that it's available, but I can tell you Nothing else that I've discovered suggests that's the case. I believe you will find it difficult to find a solution.

thanks for the opportunity to assist, and I hope you found some useful information

Bluetooth Icon disappered after downgrading from VISTA -->XP

the bluetooth light you see is associated with both wireless (WiFi) and Bluetooth radios being on or off.  This does not mean you have the bluetooth software installed. You'll need to go to http://support.dell.com and choose your system (or type your service tag when requested) and download the drivers for your bluetooth.

Furthermore, make sure you have Windows XP with Service Pak 2 or higher installed before installing any bluetooth software. :)

I have Aspire 4730Z acer laptop. but can't install blue tooth. when going to install driver from utility CD showing no device found. let me clear how can I resolve the problem

Method 1: Rename the Bth.inf file loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); Rename the %WINDIR%\inf\Bth.inf file to Bth.bak before you install or reinstall the third-party device or stack. When you rename the file, you prevent Windows Plug and Play PNP from using that INF file to install the Bluetooth driver that is included with Windows XP SP2. To rename the file, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type %windir%\inf in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Right-click Bth.inf, and then click Rename.
  3. Rename Bth.inf to Bth.bak, and then press ENTER.
  4. Install the third-party Bluetooth driver.

Method 2: Update the Bluetooth driver in Device Manager loadTOCNode(2, 'workaround'); To replace the Windows XP SP2 installation of the Bluetooth stack, update the driver in Device Manager. When you do this, specify your third-party driver. To update the driver in Device Manager, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, click Run, type devmgmt.msc in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate the device.
  3. Right-click the device, and then click Update Driver.
  4. Follow the steps that appear on the screen in the Hardware Update Wizard to specify your third-party driver for the Bluetooth device.

BLUETOOTH ACTIVATION

You should try and download the software from the manufacturer's internet site, from which you bought the bluetooth dongle.
Toshiba manager and stack is only for built in solutions from Toshiba.

But haven't you got any CD or DVD with your dongle? Normally it is bundled with the device so that you can use it too.
R
The Toshiba Bluetooth stack on the Toshiba website is customized and designed for Toshiba notebooks.
You should use the Bluetooth stack which is customized for your notebook. Then you would not need to activate any BT.

But listen dude; your Satellite P200- 1C7 seems to be NOT equipped with the Toshiba internal BT module!
Therefore you would need to switch to another external solution

How do I start bluetooth on the qosmio g25-av13?

Try the ff:

1. Are you also using a wireless internet? If you are and you cannot also connect on wireless, make sure that the wireless is enabled on your laptop. On the left side of the laptop there is a on/off switch push the switch to on. (beside the usb port).

2. if it is already on, make sure that the bluetooth is enabled also, you can check it on control panel, system, hardware, device manager, bluetooth, right click on bluetooth driver, if you see enable bluetooth click on it, if you see"disable bluetooth" that means it is already enabled.

3. If the above is already configured, lastly, look for the bluetooth icon (bluetooth manager) on the lower part of the screen on the taskbar/tray if you see the bluetooth icon, right-click on it then click "Enable Bluetooth Radio". Now, if there is no bluetooth icon on the tray at the lower right of the screen, go to Start, Toshiba, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Settings, inside the Bluetooth SEttings, click on Bluetooth, Options, CLick on Enable Bluetooth Power, also, inside the Tray Icon (still inside Bluetooth Settings) select an icon so you can always see the status of your bluetooth on the Tray and you don;t need to do and check everything everytime you cannot connect via Bluetooth.

Hope this helps.

Adding bluetooth to toshiba laptop

Well,I'm not really an expert on Bluetooth, but let me try...

Which version of Windows are you running? If you have Windows XP SP2 or above, the Microsoft Bluetooth stack should be installed on your system. First make sure that the Kensington bluetooth adapter is compatible with the printer and the OS. From what I heard Canon sell a separate Bluetooth adapter for about $80 for this, but I'm not too sure.

Secondly, ensure that the built-in Bluetooth Stack or Software has the required Profile for your printer.

Next, put your printer in "discover" mode (see printer manual for more info ). Use the Bluetooth Connection Utility software that came with the built-in Bluetooth stack to "discover" the printer. Follow the instructions by the Bluetooth stack manufacturer on how to pair and connect Bluetooth devices to your built-in Bluetooth stack.

Please also see THIS article. although it is meant for the Logitech DeNovo keyboard, it can be used for any Bluetooth enabled devices. (Just replace the DeNovo wit your printer in the article.

But mainly, make sure that the Kensington adapter is compatible...

Hope that helps..

Media Buttons and Finger Scanner

hey there
I have the same laptop (toshiba sat A100) and have had the same problem (and many others!) the only way you can get the buttons to work is if you use the product recovery disk and start over from scratch.. I have had to do this 4 times already - in the space of a year! The buttons seem to work fine for at least a month or so after re-installation of the operating system. After that time they just dont work (for reasons unk**wn to me - and trust me I have educated myself immensely trying to find a solution!) Even the toshiba support guys (unfort) couldnt help! Although the lady I spoke to last (support thru toshiba website) suggested I download drivers - 1. Toshiba common Module & 2. Toshiba Control again... Hope this helps..

Mine is an ongoing issue, for almost 6 weeks now. I cannot access my Pinterest account. I get no results when I sign on to Pinterest, or when I push the Pinterest button. The first sign of trouble was when I got a message that something had run out or stopped and at that point I was told to paste something to my browser. This was Greek to me and thus began my many desperate pleas for help. At 70 years old, I am unable to follow any instructions. The second thing I was told was to deactivate my account and then reinactivate it. I then read that to deactivate would lose all my boards and pins, so then I was and still am, afraid to do anything! I adore Pinterest. I am a shut in, physically challenged and Pinterest adds so much joy to my daily life. My last email was from a woman, at Corp., and she listed several suggestions...however, I did not understand them, plus, if I exited the email to do what she instructed, I had to hope I could still have the email to go back to, and I immediately did the unthinkable...I lost the email entirely. I am so fed up with myself at this point, I had a computer repair man come to the house to work on my iPad and my laptop, but he said he knew nothing about Pinterest and could not help me at all. I have contacted you for help so many times on this, it is embarrassing and I am sure I have made a nuisance of myself. The initial email, notifying me that something was wrong with my account, is when all the trouble began. I have enjoyed Pinterest for several years, and have no idea what the initial email was talking about. That is when I was told to deactivate and then deactivate my account, and also told to paste something to my browser. It sounds so simple, but I am at a total loss. Again, I am terrified of losing my boards and 57,000.00 pins. Can someone at Corp. try again to help me? Also, is there any chance that they could call me and instruct me over the phone? I am desperate to save my boards/pins.Could someone please try one more time to help me? Carol Thompson Hollyhockheaven 623 910 9386
