The refrigrator is a Kenmore side by side with icemaker, I am not sure of the model or the age as came with the house when I bought it one year ago. The noise is not constant but starts and continues for a couple of hours at a time. This happens 2 to 3 times a day. The noise is incredibly loud and sounds just like an airplane propeller. The unit seems to be working fine except for some icemaker problems such as occasional leaking water, and freezing up directly under the icemaker and above the ice storage bin. Are these problems related? Or is the noise my compressor?
** the y do sound directly related. water is dripping down your ice maker falling on to bucket? well a small amount of water is also falling onto the evaporator fan assy, freezing and the **ise you hear is that fan blade "cutting" through the ice.you can lift the arm turning the Ice maker to the off position, itll stop calling for water, and your **ise should stop as well
