I got my WD My Book Essential 2.0 today. Keeps freezing.

I got my WD My Book Essential 2.0 today. Hooked it up to my PC, no problems here, even set my torrent to download files directly to it to see how fast it was, no problmes here either, but then, while i was watching a movie (playing from my WD My Book Essential), it froze, the movie stopped playing and when i looked at the torrent client, all of the uploads/downloads were dropping to 0 kb/sec. I checked the LEDs on it to see if it got disconnected or it went into stand by or something, but the LED (the "ON" LED) was active. After a minute or two, it made a noise like it was starting up (kinda like the startup sound it makes when u first plug it in) and it started playing the movie and everything was back to normal. I forgot to mention, while it was in the "frozen state", i also checked to see if it was still visible in "my computer" and it was, also i even managed to browse its content, but was unable to play any of the movies on it, just browse throu the folders. Could this be a manufacturing flaw/issue and i should take it back, or was it a normal response due to the fact it was playing a movie and at the same time the torrent client was downloading and uploading from and to it ? thank u for your time!

This drive should work with Windows 7. Contact WD support and they can send you diagnostics to run.

You may try the drive in another computer, and try restarting the 7 system.
