Try going to "My Computer" clicking on Sansa, opening the music folder, and deleting the songs from there.

How do i delete songs off my sansa m230 so i can add new music

Connect the Sansa to your computer using the supplied cable. Open up the operating system's explorer window. The Sansa will show as either a Sansa or a removable hard drive, depending on the USB mode. Either way, open it and you'll see a folder named "MUSIC". Open that. You can either delete entire albums or navigate into them and delete individual tracks.

I added music to my m230 and my hard drive crashed a few weeks ago. Windows media player on my new computer (uses Windows 7) won't let me add or delete music off of my player. How do I get reset or get...

I went into "My Computer" and right clicked on the Sansa. I then chose reformat since I already had the files backed up. The Sansa was then reformatted and I was able to add music to my player.

Sansa m230 cannot see previously installed music files now that WMP11 is installed

To delete songs from your device follow the steps below
You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there.
Either under sync panel in your windows media player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete.
To format it..on your device..go under..menu, setting and there should be a format option option there..let me know if that doenst work for you...
Hope this helps

Sansa m230 won't play my PC's music

Not sure what fixed it. I formatted the player - which, of course, deleted all that was on it. I refreshed the player. and just fiddled around with it. Now the music plays and I also downloaded a couple of books onto it. Also read someof the other questions and solutions you had on your web site. Thanks for your help.

How to delete all music from my mp3 player

I had this problem with Napster and other tracks that would not be deleted from my mp3 player.
I have the Samsung Sansa m230. Even when I did a new Sync it still retained the old files. Samsungs web page (tech help) does not even list the m230 as a model that I can see. So I connected the mp3 player to my computer with the USB and did a right click to "FORMAT" the device. You get a warning that this deletes everything - which is what you want - and I got all my space back.

Sansa m230 delete specific song from the player

Your SanDisk Sansa does not allow you to delete files from within the player.
Instead I recommend that you follow the steps below to delete the music
You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer1.gif..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music1.gif and delete them from there.
Either under sync panel in your windows media1.gif player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete.
Hope this helps
