Question about Venturer PVS62911 Car Video Player
When i go over the slightest bump the players reset themselves and i have to start the movie over. impossible to watch a movie for more than 10 minutes without this happening.
I know exactly what the problem is. My 7 year old found this out for me. when you open the door and look on the part where the screen is there will be a little plastic piece that stick out and when you shut the door it is suppose to push a button in on the opposite side, well the little plastic piece is not long enough and doesn't push the button in far enough so that when you hit a bump it will reload and start over. I fixed my problem by gluing a (Not sure what you call it) little art and craft plastic iron set thing were when you put the pieces together and then put wax paper over and iron it, it makes a design. anyway just find a way to extend the piece that is their further and it will work perfect. We recently purchased a pair of these from eBay and started having the reset on bump issue almost immediately. I guessed that the pads on the door had become permanently compressed over time and that was allowing the door to move too much during a bump.
As the door moves, the switch moves resets the unit. I bought some 1/8 foam weather strip with adhesive backing from ACE and put one 2” strip on either side of the disc opening just below the latches. This helped quite a bit but we still experienced resetting on big road bumps. I put a small piece of the weather strip on the end of the little plastic boss on the door that pushes the door switch in. We just got home from a 1.5 hour trip and the DVD player did not reset. I am not ready to claim success yet, but I think I am close to solving this problem.
