Similar to the other posts regarding this problem, My PVS62911 had a steadily worsening condition in witch it would restart the movie after the slightest shock. eventually I couldn't even touch it without it reseting.

Teza24 hit it right on the head. based on his suggested solution, I drilled a 1mm hole in the plastic boss that pushes the door switch, and inserted a small screw in it. this allowed me to adjust the hight of the boss until I found a hight that worked without limiting the ability to close the unit. I then started a movie and literally was able to smack the unit around without the slightest problem.

    thanx for the help,

I know exactly what the problem is. My 7 year old found this out for me. when you open the door and look on the part where the screen is there will be a little plastic piece that stick out and when you shut the door it is suppose to push a button in on the opposite side, well the little plastic piece is not long enough and doesn't push the button in far enough so that when you hit a bump it will reload and start over. I fixed my problem by gluing a (Not sure what you call it) little art and craft plastic iron set thing were when you put the pieces together and then put wax paper over and iron it, it makes a design. anyway just find a way to extend the piece that is their further and it will work perfect. Problem solved.. Have any questions e-mail me at teza24@dtccom.net

We recently purchased a pair of these from eBay and started having the reset on bump issue almost immediately. I guessed that the pads on the door had become permanently compressed over time and that was allowing the door to move too much during a bump.
As the door moves, the switch moves resets the unit. I bought some 1/8 foam weather strip with adhesive backing from ACE and put one 2” strip on either side of the disc opening just below the latches. This helped quite a bit but we still experienced resetting on big road bumps. I put a small piece of the weather strip on the end of the little plastic boss on the door that pushes the door switch in. We just got home from a 1.5 hour trip and the DVD player did not reset. I am not ready to claim success yet, but I think I am close to solving this problem.

Good Luck to all who are experiencing this issue.

Bring it back to where you bought it and buy a better name. There may be a firmware update available for the unit which improves it's behavior and recovery. If you're not able to return it, perhaps you can isolate it from bumps by placing it on a piece of foam. I'm sure it may be very frustrating.

Qwestar dvd player auto memory playback

Try this. Re-wire your 12v power source to remain in a constant "hot" state. ie: connected to battery instead of ignition acc. Then, when you want to turn units on or off, use the remote or buttons on headrests themselves. This method will leave power to the units when switched off so the internal memory can resume where you left off.

You can try the procedure for the VM9311TS model (the one I have) - I don't know if it'll work but it's worth trying. Put in a DVD, and let it start playing. Then hit STOP on the remote twice, and enter the code 1264. If you were able to see the actual movie at this point, you'd see a menu pop up. Push down twice, then ENTER. At this point the blue screen should clear and you should see the movie itself. You'll have other options on that menu, like a macrovision option to allow you to see burned DVDs. Set what you like, then on the remote, hit SYS SETUP twice to lock in your choices.

Burnt DVDs

Try this (this is the procedure for the 9311TS model, which I have, and it should be the same for yours too) - put in a regular movie, and do what you need to do in order to be able to watch the movie (cycle the e-brake handle, toggle a switch - however you have it set up). When the movie comes on, using the remote, hit STOP twice, then type in 1264, and a hidden menu will appear. This menu has the macrovision toggle - turn that on. While you're in there, you can also disable the parking brake bypass (turn the bypass on - no more e-brake handle or toggle switch!). Then hit the SYS SETUP button on the remote twice to save the choices you made, and you should be able to watch the burned movie then. You'll also find that it's nice to be able to just stick a DVD in and have it start playing.

My head unit wont play dvd's wile im driving

There is no e-brake override code. You have to hardwire it to bypass the e-brake. Take the peach-colored wire and ground it to metal inside the dash. Put a toggle switch inline on the wire and mount it somewhere you can reach it. When you get the blue screen when starting a movie, open the switch for 3-5 seconds, then close it again to reapply the ground. Your movie will start up, and you can then drive away with it playing.
