I can send emails to my office pc but cannot receive from them

If you are using Outlook Express at home and your office uses a full version of Outlook, it will have some communication features not available to Outlook Express.
There should be no problems sending standard emails though, as long as your office computer has internet access.

When I scan a document in the computer and want to email it to some-one I have this message "530 authentification required...

FixYa might think after someone has answered or solved the problem you might disappear.

How much $ are the charges to register ?.

Error 530 occur when you use a laptop on a network that is not your own. You can receive emails, but you cannot send them. Some wireless Internet service providers block Port 25 because they think you are a spammer sending malicious emails. Here are a few tips to get around Error 530.

Open Microsoft Outlook. In the "Tools" menu, navigate to "Accounts," "Server" and then "Advanced." Observe the SMTP port setting. If it says "25," change it to "587." Press "Apply," and then click "OK." Exit Outlook, restart your computer and reopen Outlook. Send an email to ensure that your email goes through the system. Attempt an alternative solution. Inside Outlook, select the "Tools" menu, click "Account Settings" and "More Settings." Check the "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" option. Exit Outlook, restart your computer and reopen Outlook. Send an email to see if your email goes through the system. Consider temporarily using web-based email instead of Outlook. For example, if you have a Yahoo! email address and normally access your email through Outlook, open a web browser and type "http://mail.yahoo.com" instead. Check with your specific email provider to see if webmail is available and what address to use. Hope this helps.

When I send an image in outlook express, it is received by others as a red x.

Today's high resolution digital cameras produce multi Megabyte photos. These are great for printing but cause a heavy burden when sending over the Internet.

Shrink Pic allows you to send dozens of photos as email attachments - quickly and with no effort at all!

All you need to do is install Shrink Pic. It automatically detects when you're sending large photo files and compresses them in the background.

There's no setup, no operating instructions, nothing, nada. Just send your photos normally and Shrink Pic takes care of shrinking them.

Also, make sure you get no errors when sending out the email in outlook express.

Hi All

if you are running XP then open up explorer and go to

C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{65C0EAFC-BB65-4A91-A733-2B5FA75AFB49}\Microsoft\Outlook Express

then delete outbox.dbx (Make sure outlook express is closed)

I am using a web portal to access my outlook emails and do not go into the office. I need to archive my email from the web portal can this be done

One solid solution is to setup your Email account on Outlook or Outlook Express and then use that to download your email / post office locally. From there you can back up this post office to an external hard drive or CDR (depending on the size of the files) and create a restorable archive of your email. Please contact your email administrator and inform them you need your Account / Email Server settings and that your going to use outlook to download your email.

Tip: - Before you Send/Receive email with your Outlook or Outlook Express - Change your Advanced Email Account settings to LEAVE EMAIL ON SERVER, this way the web portal will still contain a current copy of email and match what is downloaded in the outlook email client. To access this feature you can contact me via email at solidlava@hotmail.com and I can walk you through it.
