you must open the grinder for test the dispaly, and transformer for test the output voltage, and isolated is there problem witht the transformer and power supply or display. if there are output from transformer power supply the power will be +5vds or 12 vdc in another machines and the dispaly not LIT , the display is faulty. and vice versa use the VOM OR DVOM God bless you God bless you
Try connecting and external display screen to your laptop's external display port. If the external display is working, then try to access your laptop display connector (usually can access by removing the top power button access cover and/or the keyboard assembly) to the motherboard and disconnect and reconnect to motherboard. Power laptop back on, if still doesn't work, then could be the display invertor pcb or the actual display. If you have to order a display, make sure the display invertor board comes with it. Hope this helps, Ed.
it is dispaly driver problem. uninstall dispaly vga driver thern reinstall it.
when u power up press F8 key then go to enable VGA mode.then check problem same or not.change also your dispaly properties setting resolution to 1024*768
LCD dispaly is standard,
the brightness is controlled on the display control baord mounted on the board that the dispaly cable plugs into, the gain of an op amp that controls the brigtness of the diplay is loacted on this board , check also the potentiometer located close to the connector and adjust that, but a quick visit to radio shack will get you a couple of cents worth of parts and a few mintes of delicate soldering and a couple of hours of dissasembly , tracing and reaasembly. with a risk of doing further damage.
equally likely to a faulty power op amp or potentiometer is that the dispaly is expiring ( it happens sometimes to these types of plasma displays.....)
so if you are determined not to get a cheap relapcement cd 20 and are determined to open the beast. get a cheap broken cd20 unit and take the dispaly out of that one and replace it with your display ( by display i specifically mean the intergarted circuit tht the plasma screen is mounted to, and subsequentially screwed into the inside face of the cd 20 unit behind that bit of smoked glass,
which of course you are going to open and clean before you put it all back together gain.
have fun ;-)
