Mitsubishi VS-50707 shuts down sporadically

By corbypc on Mar 10, 2008

My 2000 Mitsubishi VS-50707 will turn itself off sporadically. Sometimes only once over a two week period, other times it will turn itself off 6-10 times in a day. It always takes at least 20-30 minutes to reset and turn back on. If you don't wait, it will just click and turn right back off. Is it time for a new tube or can this be fixed for a minimum charge. I would like to get more than seven years out of a $2200 T.V. Need help please!!!!!

- I conducted a self diagnosis and it came up with error code 24. What does this code signify? Thanks for the help.

- Having zero knowledge about televisions and there components, is this something that I can fix on my own? Wife is pushing for new T.V. I don't want to cut my losses just yet. What needs to happen to fix the problem?

you can do a self-diagnosis test by pressing the menu and input/device button on set for 5 sec and see what error code it gives you. Count the blinks followed by a short pause then more blinks. This is the error code.

- Sorry, it took so long, been on Ctechnicians.com too long, 24 is vertical deflection problems.

- You can fix it if you know how to solder. Look for a loose connection around the DY connector on the yoke. Also you need to change C411 and C412
