This is a newer product. You can't just ground that orange cable like the older modles.I posted a solution somewhere here on the forum.

Parking brake safety bypass

If you have the old firmware then all you need to do is ground the parking brake wire

if you have the new firmware(just bought the system) a toggle switch is involved:
1 - connect e-brake wire from dvd unit to the switch
2 - connect a ground wire from switch to the unit chassis(any good metal grounding surface will do)
3 - pop in a dvd, toggle the switch back and forth 2 or 3 times depending on what wire you placed where...and voilaa!! your dvd system should work in motion!!

Lanzar not playing dvd's says parking brake

what you need is a toggle switch...
put the switch between the parking brake wire, and actual ground,
the black wire will work, just extend the wire so the toggle switch is
accessible, once you do that turn your indash on,
slap a dvd in it, then once it displays the parking brake message,
hit your toggle switch once, if it doesnt get it,
try it multiple times but with a second between clicks,
that should do it and please keep the eyes on the road. :]

Try grounding the parking brake wire instead of attaching it. Should bypass brake requirement for video but really should effect powering on

How do i bypass the parking brake switch in order for my video to play

hook the pink wire to a toggle switch and ground the switch to the chassis. when the unlawfull screen comes on then turn the switch on for a few seconds then back off for a few seconds then back on and the screen should go away. I done this with mine and it works. unfortunately you have to do this every time.

Parking Brake wire on Jensen VM9311TS

It may need to see a Positive....not a ground (the brake wire rests at ground and goes positive when the pedal is pressed). but to answer your question, the brake wire for your car is Light Green and is at the brake switch above the pedal.

I doesn't work

the black box may be the very thing to protect your unit from harsh electrical environment such as coil back emf which can send much higher volts than 12 to the unit. it may be possible that the unit has been zapped and killed the video section. try installing in another car or even on the bench with a car battery.
