Dropped cell phone in water.

I have heard of putting it in a freezer, using a dryer, place it on top of your a/c unit outside to help dry it out. However the best thing that I have found is placing it in a ziploc bag of rice for 24 hrs. You will need to take any covers, holders, batteries, and any other removable parts off and place in the bag as well. This will help draw any water or condensation out of the phone. I would never recommend placing it in the freezer because of humidity and condensation reasons. I also wouldn't recommend using a dryer due to the amount of time needed to evaporate any moisture, and also not the a/c unit because you may have to disassemble your a/c to get only shards and pieces back. The a/c was a personal experience! Try the rice, we have saved 3 phones now using this tip.

I have a highlight T mobil phone which got water damage, any suggesstions for a quick fix?

As long as it wasn't sitting in water for a long time, I usually shake mine out then remove the battery and SIM card to towel dry them and the phone itself. then put phone in freezer and remove after about thirty minutes or so. Then wipe off any frost or condensation and reassemble. Lots of people don't like this and say that it doesn't work...but it's worked 3 out of 4 time for me in the past.

What color is dot going to be if water

well. there are a few things you can look for.
Iron-Oxide(rust) - it will be very small so look carefully
Discoloration - if the phone was turned on after the water hit it or while it was in the water it will have shorted. so look for a patch of the circut board that is odly coloured(near battery is the best spot to look)
and look at the screen
liquid crystals DO NOT LIKE water. so look for discoloration in the screen(if it turns on)

if there is condensation inside the phone
  1. get some jasmine rice
  2. get a sealable container
  3. put the rice into the container, and sink the phone into the rice
  4. seal the container
  5. store in a cool dry place
what this does is, the rice soaks up all the water taking it off your phone

I have a motorola razr v3x phone, problem with water damage

I dropped my in the bath tub giving my little girl a bath. I pulled the back cover and battery out and sat it upside down, back faceing up, under a lap and turned it over every hour. The next morning put the battery in and closed it up, no problems - till the next time it went swimming and had to repete the process.

My nokia 7610 phone has been dropped in water

You should detached quickly its battery first. It is to prevent further damage to your unit. And dont try to power it on. Then bring your unit to a cellphone shop to have it dry and clean it for you, they will sometime automatically charge for water damage repair.

For minor damage only battery pack will get damaged. Luckily only cleaning and drying will get it running.

two things that seem to help me when i dropped my phone in a sink was putting it in the freezer over night and then plugging it into my computer. after that it worked fine for the most part, just a little slower when I turned it on.

Dropped it into sink

was there water in the sink at the time?
if so check the connections on the base if there is green corrosion on it the the damage is done you will have to find someone who will repair water damaged phones.
If no water and just the drop that caused the prob then try removing the battery while the phone is still turned on this may shock it back
