Could be the electrical connection to the machine (behind toe panel), a fuse near the electronic control, the door switches, or the electronic control. P.S. is there a switch behind the counter, or under the sink which powers the dishwasher?

13 yr old dishwasher suddenly stopped working mid pre wash. Water left in bottom of machine. Power point is fine. Will not start at all now though. No lights turn on either. Is it fixable ?

If it is 13 years old, it has most likely reached its end of life--whatever the cause, something has malfunctioned. However, a service technician would probably be able to advise.

My kitchen aid dishwasher is 1 years old and suddenly today it does not work.checked the breaker it's fine.what may be the problem

Make sure the unit is plugged into the outlet under the sink. sometimes when moving things around under the sink, the plug may have come out of the socket in the wall. If that is ok, then you will need to make sure the D/W is getting power. You can use a multi-meter or small plug-in checker that lights up when inserted into the receptacle or outlet to check for power, or have a qualified electrician check for you. Also, just because a breaker does not look like it is tripped, doesn't mean its not. Sometimes that also has to be checked to verify it still has power. Most have to be fully turned off, then back on to be sure it has reset. One more thing to check would be to see if the dishwasher is connected to a GFCI as that may have tripped.

WASHER FILLED AND THEN STOPPED NO POWER TO PANEL

Check the breaker box for a tripped breaker. If it is tripped then flip it back on. If it trips again call a repairman, you probably have a short.

My Maytag dishwasher will not run. It is completely dead. Nothing lights up, etc. It is only a few years old.

Many newer dishwashers are wired to a switch on the wall as a means of service
disconnects in new homes. Also I would check the GFCI outlets in the kitchen area
and possibly the bathroom as well to see if they are tripped. (Press the test button and
then the reset button on them to test). The next thing I would check is the breaker
panel to see if the dishwasher is on it's own breaker. And lastly I would check the
connections to the dishwasher itself (after making absolutely sure power is off to the
wiring feeding the dishwasher at the breaker panel). I hope this is helpful.

DISHWASHER HAS NO POWER. Was running then then stopped in middle of cycle.

Hi,

The first thing to check is your breaker box to make sure the breaker did not trip. If that is okay then you may have a blown thermal fuse inside the control panel. I have put together some instructions on this repair. Follow the link and let me know if it was helpful.

Why is it dead?

Check power at the source; there could be a tripped breaker. If power is getting to your dishwasher, there may have been sudden failure of a part, such as the heater.

Faulty Diplomat Dishwasher - tripping mains fuse

Hello,

My dishwasher a diplomat 12 program (hja8640) was doing exactly the same where every now and again when turned on at the plug it would trip. After engineers coming out several times and failing to fix it, they condemed it. New one was supplied, however did exactly the same thing. The electrician came back, checked the RCD power breaker and this was fine. It was then discovered that some dishwashers and washing machines send out a lot of earth leakage, combine this with other appliances on in the house can be enough to trip.

Soloution. The electrician removed the kitchen circut from the RCD breaker and intalled another breaker RCD just for the kitcehn loop, this therefore means that the kitchen has a seperate trip from the rest of the house, and touch wood, has solved the problem. This mind you has taken about three months to work out so i hope it saves you some time.

Always use a fully qualified electrician though.

Thanks.

Kitchenaid 24" SS dishwasher

the first thing to check is power. check your breakers to see if any are tripped. if so turn it off than on some breakers do not reset if you just switch them to the on position. also check if it has a plug or shut off switch in a cabinet nearby .
