IPhone is too low

-   my button on the side of the phone to lower the volume works but the button to raise the volume does not and I'm stuck on the lowest setting.  How do I fix this.  I tried shutting the phone down and restarting, I "reset all settings" still no affect.  I had a similar problem after one of the previous updates when my silent switch on the side quit working till update 2.1 came out then it worked again, but no volume control is not acceptable.  Of Course i'm out of warrenty too.-   ewildman
