When you download does it delete the pictures automatically or are all your pictures still on it. It sounds as though the internal memory or memory card is full and you will need to delete some pictures or format the memory after you have downloaded them to your PC.
Two methods, one if this function is installed on your camera you can choose to format the card which will delete everything on the card.
Two if the above is not available you can put your card in your computer if there is a slot for it or connect your camera via USB to your computer. Locate the memory card and format it to remove everything, this is faster than choosing the delete option.
You caused a card conflict, or have corruption on the card.
Try this: Remove the battery from the camera. Remove the memory card, and re-insert. Install the battery back in the camera. Turn on the camera. In the setup menu or the equivalent for your camera, select the card options. Indicate for it to re-format, or re-initialize the memory card.
If the above does not work, you should call the support line for your camera.
Hi Cristennn, I am sorry to hear that your pictures are now missing. Unfortunately, to format a storage device (such as a drive or your camera's memory) means, in simple terms, to delete the contents and reset it like a clean slate. By choosing to format your camera, you have most likely deleted what was in the memory.
Geek Squad® offers data recovery services on a carry-in basis. It may be possible to recover the pictures from your camera.I suggest you visit your Geek Squad® precinct at your local Best Buy™ store to see if this may be a possibility for you.
I also suggest that you download your camera’s contents often and maintain a backup of your pictures. This way if this or something else happens to your files in the future you will still have a copy.
If the pictures were in the cameras internal memory there isn't much you can do unless the camera has an un-delete feature.
However if the pictures were on a memory card, firstly don't use the card.
There are many programs that can help you recover faulty formatted or corrupt memory cards. Do a search on google and try a few as some are better than others and some work better in certainsituations than others.
