Dialing Numbers or FDN list is a SIM card based security feature which
allows the phone to be "locked" so that it can only dial certain
numbers, or numbers with certain prefixes.
A PIN2 code
(numeric password) protects the allowed list of numbers from being
changed by any person who does not know the PIN2 code.
FDN mode, your device will restrict outgoing calls, except for the
numbers stored in the FDN list.
To activate FDN
1.) In idle mode, open the application list and select
Settings ? Call settings ? Fixed Dialling Numbers ? Enable FDN.
2.) Enter the PIN2 supplied with your SIM or USIM card and
3.) Select FDN list and add contacts to be
used in FDN mode.
1.) In idle
mode, open the application list and select Settings ? Call settings ?
Fixed Dialling Numbers ? Disable FDN.
2.) Enter the PIN2
supplied with your SIM or USIM card and select OK.
Warning: PIN2 is a serious SIM-based security feature of the
handset. If you are not sure of your PIN2, please do not enter random
PIN2. When you access a menu requiring the PIN2, you must enter the
PIN2 supplied with the SIM or USIM card. Contact your service
provider/ Network for your PIN2. If the wrong PIN2 code is entered
three times in a row, PIN Lock(PUK2) will be automatically activated.
Please, use another Sim with the phone, if the Sim can send messages, definitely sounds like an error in the SMS
centre number. You can change this by following the below steps:
1. Open your dialer and dial: *#*#4636#*#*. 2. From the menus which appear, select Phone Information. 3. Scroll down to SMSC. 4. Enter the SMS center number given by your provider in this box. 5. Select Update.
This will then change the number and hopefully resolve the issues you are experiencing or you can also contact your service provider and the problem will be resolve for free.
When turning on your phone you may find a message requiring you to take a certain action before you can use the phone. If the message says "INSERT SIM," make sure the SIM card is installed in the phone or that it hasn't become loose. The SIM card is located in the battery compartment. Remove the battery cover and the battery. The SIM card should be located near the bottom of the phone under the metal hinge. Insert or secure the SIM card with the contacts facing down, reinsert the battery and batter cover, and turn your phone on again.
If the message reads "PHONE LOCK," the SGH U600's automatic locking function is enabled. Enter the phone's password to unlock the phone.
When using the phone for the first time, you will be prompted to enter a PIN. The PIN is given with the SIM card for your phone. Enter the PIN number exactly as given. You may also have the "PIN Check" feature enabled on your phone, which will require you to enter the PIN every time the phone is powered on. You can turn off "PIN Check" in the "Settings" menu.
A message asking you to enter a PUK means you attempted to enter the PIN number three times and failed. You must contact your service provider to get a PUK.
Voice Dial: Important: Be sure your phone supports the voice dialing function andthat it is activated. Record at least one voice tag. (Please refer tothe instructions in your phone’s user manual.) Note: Voice dialingentries must be stored in the phone’s memory, not on the SIM card! 1. Press the Accept Button (1) for 1 second. 2. A voice dial beep will be heard on the kit to prompt the user to say the voice tag of the contact to call. 3. Say the voice tag exactly as how you recorded it. 4.
