Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 Digital Camera

Display & photo limited to a diagonal bar

I've had a period of where the photo display & the actual photo is limited to a diagonal bar that is about 1/2" that runs from the lower left to the upper right of the view screen. The rest of the screen is black. If I zoom out, the bar widens to the point that the viewer is covered with the view, however, to get a photo, I'd have to stand in the next county. It is not currently doing it. I don't know hwy it started nor why it stopped doing so, but it sure was difficult to deal with when it happened.

The fix was simple: The automatic lens cover wasn't opening all the way when I powered up the camera. A simple tap on the lens cover corrected it.

Usually the photo is displayed for a short period of time. Try the setup in the menu. There should be an option for previewing recent pictures.

Focusing screen information bar slanting

A scratch on the screen will not effect your photos in anyway, it will just be annoying to you at most. Its possible to hit the prism out of alignment but also very unlikely. If you had to **** it a little bit, its possible you may have moved the actual lcd.

Hi, I have a Canon IXUS 95IS camera.. For some reason, when I attempt to take a photo, the LCD screen isn't displaying what is actually in view? In movie mode it comes up on the screen but when i flick it...

Ah yes! you have pressed the display button. Turn the camera on and you see the icons in the display, look for the Disp button and press it, the display will cycle through its modes icons, black, image and icons.

How do u display the time/date to print on the actual photo?

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

Using my memory card, i check my photos display with out date & time.

You will find a setting that will date/time stamp the actual image when it's taken. Please take a look in your manual. Most cameras have this feature.

The LCD is cracked internally. Unless you are handy and can pick up a cheap parts camera with good LCD on eBay it isn't worth it. It is actually a pretty good little camera though, the newer ones often have less detail in the images than this model.

Sharp photos on camera but very blurred when downloaded

Two things:

1.Digital cameras do not do well in low light, unless you want to spend $750 and carry around a bulky camera. The smaller and thinner the digital camera, the less you can expect high IQ(Image Quality) in certain types of conditions; low light, moving objects, long zoomed shots when camera has no IS(Image Stabilization), and long flash shots(Flash is only good to about 10Feet.

2.Your cameras display is small compared to a computers display, so the picture will look better on the camera because you cannot see the detail(pixels) as well as a much larger computer display. If you limit your prints to standard 3X5 or 4X6 or 5X7 view, then you will get a better idea if they are worth keeping for printing in these sizes later.

Read digital photo forums and start with your manual under Taking Pictures, or such, to learn about digital photography and how to live with limitations.

I think you will find the advantages far outweigh the limitations.

Finepix f50fd camera working bar cracked screen.

Thank you for your reply. Since using the F50fd doesn't make any sense without the display screen, I need to hope that the problem your camera has really concerns the display screen and not any other electronic components (e.g. display drivers). Also, I need to hope that my working screen will be compatible to your camera - something Fuji easily could have tried to impede.

Why is your screen actually cracked? What happened?

Moving photos

Sorry, no. You can use a card reader to put the pictures on the card. Bear in mind that if you've done any editing on the photos then the camera may not display them.
