I do not know the filament numbers to check if there is continuity. No schematic or help to determine if filament is open.

  • Joskabaci Mar 18, 2008

A schematic would be a big big help.

  • Joskabaci Mar 18, 2008

The outlet is good, fuse is good, no light inside of the monitor.

  • Joskabaci Mar 18, 2008

System not upgraded. Monitor completely dead.

  • Joskabaci Mar 19, 2008

Outlet is good, double checked. Power switch not checked.

  • Joskabaci Mar 19, 2008

Tried a lamp in the outlet. Replaced the power cord with a new one. Do not see a ray of light inside the monitor. Checked the fuse a 4amp is good. Power switch difficult to get at, but I will try.

  • Joskabaci Mar 19, 2008

    I will try this next.

  • Joskabaci Mar 19, 2008

Previous user could not read the schematic, it was too blurred!

  • Joskabaci Mar 28, 2008

I can not find a horiz output trans C5583 to replace the one in the monitor. I do not know the pins to check the filament continuity. I quit, close the problem, please.

  • Joskabaci Mar 29, 2008

I tried to e-mail, but I get all kinds of errors?

    reasons for dead monitor are.....
--->Outlet isn't live, power cord is loose or defective. Try something else in
the outlet, inspect/replace the power cord.
--->Bad power switch. With plug pulled, check for continuity in the on or
    pressed position.
    --->Blown fuse .
--->Bad power supply (not starting up or just dead), bad connections.

the filament is the section from where the light is projected onto the picture tube..

when the monitor is ON have you noticed a small ray of light inside the monitor...it is the filament

There are schematics and service manuals for various AOC monitors on eserviceinfo.com. None for the 9glrs but there are some for the 7glr which might be close.

Search google with the monitor's FCC ID of ARSCM9950 there looked to be a few links to some schematics but I couldn't get to them from work. I did also get some links in this search to a few sites that sell the service manual.

BTW the model number should be 9glrs with an L not a 1.

A 19" CRT like this is quite old, for under $200 you can get a 19" LCD.

I still don't think this is worth it. Look on craigslist or a local swap shop website and you will find a bunch of people selling cheap 19" CRT monitors. You can probably get one for under $50.

CRTs aren't worth fixing anymore, replacements are so cheap.

These are .rar files, which are like zip files, but you'll need a rar archive unloader to open these..

I believe that the schematic listed here, will be close enough for your purposes.

1. Make sure that the signal cable is properly connected to the monitor and is securely inserted into the video card in the back of the computer.
2. Make sure that none of the pins on the signal cable are bent or broken. (Its normal for some of the pins to be missing).
3. Make sure that your computer is turned on and working properly. Your monitor could be waiting for a signal from your computer.
4. Try turning on your computer and monitor in a different sequence.
5. can be the flickback and this can be dangerous to open .

actually if u repair an aoc monitor alone without getting connected to cpu once u switch on the monitor all led's will lit on ( green light ) it will remain on situation until u connect the vga connector to cpu that's the time led's will lit off and only the power led will remain in green condition.some aoc 5en once u power on power led is in green condition and if not connected to cpu it will be in orange condition.hope u get some idea but i am not sure if it will work with ur monitor. but as long as LEDs lit on i think no problem with ur monitor.

Screen got yellowish color

Sounds like overstressed video cable, at least that wire for BLUE signal, 'cause when image is yellow - the BLUE color is missing.
Open the monitor and ring coaxial wire in blue insulation.
