That would be a settings and preference issue. please supply the model and make of your receiver, so we can proceed?

Yamaha rx-v663 how to set and lock sound program

once you set the audio program for an input, it should stay set even if you power the unit down. As far as locking that program so that it cannot be changed - no there isn't a way to do that.

Reset a Onkyo TX-DS787

Did you try to ask this question on the support forum from Onkyo? because I don't know what you mean with reset.
When a device is defect, there is no reset button, to repair it. Only what software is involved or settings in a memory that can lose settings when the power is down, can be "reset"

I set the levels for all the speakers where I want them to be set at. But when I turn the unit off I lose all the speaker level settings and have to reset them

Some recievers have both a "power switch" and a "stand by" switch. Here is the difference.
"Power switch" eliminates all power input and most likely the memory in the unit too just like your stating in your situation.
"Stand by" switch shuts down all major components but keeps a small ammount of power to the unit to conserve any stored settings

Onkyo TX-SR701 Digital audio port stopped working

you may want to try a factory reset by pressing and holding vcr1 button while pressing the power button. do this with the unit on. It will reset back to factory default. so any saved setting will be lost and you will have to set again to your settings.

Kenwood VR-715 reset?

Hello llarosa,

Yes, there is. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet, then
plug it back in while holding down the POWER ON/STANDBY key.
That will clear the contents of the memory, reset the microcomputer and take the unit back to factory settings. Hope this helps. Let me know.
