Upgraded my pc to win 7 and on pinnacle's advice bought and installed studio 12, I did have studio 10 before. 500 pci card not shown in devices and studio 12 says can't open 500 file

The SAA7130HL card does NOT support FM radio. I own this same card. You would have to get either model SAA7133HL or SAA7135HL to receive FM radio. I don't know where you could purchase either one of these cards manufactured by Pinnacle.
I purchased the PCTV Systems model 800i HD Digital and Analog TV + FM radio card so I could capture digital TV signals and listen to FM radio, and I have installed both cards in my computer. Amazon has the 800i card for $63.78 for Win XP and Win 7 systems with a regular PCI slot:

Amazon also has an Asus Digital TV/FM card for $18.99 for Win 7 and Win 8 with a spare PCI - Express slot:

To capture in Studio you need to know what type of device you will be capturing with.
There are 3 types

• USB devices (like the 710&510 USB, and the Dazzle DVC 150 etc)
• PCI cards (like the Movie Board, Movie Board Plus, 700&500 PCI)
• 1394 cards

All these devices are setup in the same place in Studio but you will need to know what you have so you can make the right selections in the Capture source settings window.
To get to the settings window, hit the capture tab at the top of the screen from anywhere in Studio.
Note: When you go to the capture tab, if you have not changed the settings you may get a message saying it does not detect a DV camcorder.
When you hit the Settings button it will bring up this screen. Hit the capture Source tab. This is the capture source screen. This screen allows you to change what device Studio will use to capture. Notice the default is DV camcorder.

list down and you will see PCTV 110i...

I have the same problem... my works (but only in MCE) but i cant use the remote...like its dead... but i only use driver files, since if i install pinnacle or chrisTV, it just reboots my pc... so whatever! :D

It's the 4.5 version you need for Windows XP - and don't forget to install the PCI Performance enhancer if you don't want the video and audio to be asynchronous.

If you are running Internet Explorer 7, this could be coverred by this fix from Pinnacle:
